Getting back up to speed.

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Getting back up to speed.

Hi, Folks. Sorry for being away from the forum for a while. I had other things to do...
Anyway, the relative lack of air time on anything Cyprus in the local news media - save for the shipping of water from Greece to (south) Cyprus - is making me wonder if there is starting to be some progress on this issue? Are things starting to move, or is there retrenchment. Reading some of the comments on the forum is sending me mixed messages on this. Since the election of Christofas, has the basic mood on either side really changed?

The situation in Cyprus has nothing to do with any "mood", and therefore there can be no "mood swings". What we have in Cyprus is two fundamentally differently policies:

1) The policy of Republic of Cyprus which is pursuing the unification of the island, legality, democracy and human rights for all Cypriots.

2) The policy of Turkey which is pursuing the effective partition of Cyprus with the permanent Turkification of the north of our island and the incorporation of their pseudo state in the EU from the back door via some loose confederation while at the same time they would be silencing the voice of Cypriots in EU and UN.

Oh, so we're back to that, are we? Oh well, it just goes to show that with those attitudes, nothing is going to change....

I guess we're going to have change our attitudes. We should not be pursuing a unified island any longer. We should forget our properties, we should forget our towns and villages. We should accept that Turkey has a larger army and start cooperating with them in order to permanently divide this island into a Turkish and Cypriot state.

(its nice to be back)
