TMT Resistance?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

TMT Resistance?

Postby Magnus » Thu Jul 03, 2008 5:30 pm

I saw this in an article featured in the Cyprus Mail:

Cyprus Mail wrote:In the north, Talat faced a barrage of criticism, some of which went as far as to call him a traitor. Single sovereignty meant Turkish Cypriots would end up as part of the Republic of Cyprus, some critics said...

The TMT organisation called for an end to all discussions on the Cyprus issue or it would “instigate a resistance”.

Can anyone give an idea as to what kind of 'resistance' TMT have in mind? Who do they intend to target? How real is this threat?

In the north, Talat faced a barrage of criticism, some of which went as far as to call him a traitor.

I was in the north yesterday, and saw some banners proclaiming that "the TMT is in its 50th year". I too thought that this organisation was no longer in existence.

Maybe he works for the TC Democrat Party or even Volcan :

Cyprus Weekly wrote:"We shall never accept a single sovereignty, no matter what the context…" declared Serdar Denktash, chairman of the Turkish Cypriot Democratic Party...

Nationalist Volkan vented its anger on Talat, whom it accused of making key concessions to Christofias in having agreed to the single sovereignty and citizenship.

"Talat is a traitor and has violated the Constitution, and for this reason he no longer represents the Turkish Cypriot people," it blared.

I'm not sure what Constitution they're talking about. :?

Apparently they were disbanded in 1974. Looks like someone should update the Wikipedia entry.

This is further evidence of how "trnc" society persists in being neo fascist and fanatical in it's nationalism! They remain backward in their thinking which will inevitably cause the collapse of the present peace talks. It is only a matter of time.

That's what you said couple of days ago Tim.

The enquiring minds would like to know how could you have gotten it so wrong.

It is not a case of bad habits but is an example of a society that has not learned anything from past mistakes and continues to maintain ideologies that were abandoned from all western developed nations.
