Has anyone got any alternative halloumi recipes that i could use, i could ask my mum but i want to surprise her with my own efforts because you know what cypriot mums are like they will just make it for you.

Gosh i find that amazing, Lisa, jewel, marina, marinella etc. none of you ladies have a good halloumi recipe for your Brother :cry:

It's just not something any of us modern day girls make.
We just buy the stuff from Orphanides.

I've got to agree with Liza here! Why kill myself and get the house stinking of mouldy milk when I can just buy the stuff!!!!!!!

Also I work full time and have 2 kids and a house to run around after, when would I find time to make cheese!!!!

Brother, how are u ? Because I always want to help people, I will ask my mother to give me the recipe for making halloumi. But I think the key for making halloumi is "pythia". Pythia is something that you put at the beginning to the milk before you bowl it in order to help the procedure of making the halloumi.

i am sorry you can not beat a souvla in a village in cyprus after ur drunk uncle sodiri has dropped a zmila in the karvouna. and my yiayia's kleftiko.... :lol: :lol:
