Hi!! I am a seafarer by profession,I am being offered 3.5K Euros as gross monthly package by the employer, wishing to enquire if that would suffice a family of three,Would appreciate any feed back on the quality of life one can manage in this salary.

you say GROSS monthly, what are the deductions, is he taking accomodation and food charges whilst you are at sea ? It is the Nett figure that is important. If it is € 3.5 k less taxes per month you could live pretty well on that I would say

Thanx Aargent, this salary quoated is Gross, not inclusive of anything, accomodation and food charges are all on me.This amount is for a shore based job,not seagoing.Could you pls tell me the kind of tax deductions for this salary and also something about the Indian community in cyprus(Limassol).

on that salary you should expect to pay around 250-300 euros in tax and another 250 or so for social insurance so round 500 in total, leaving you 3,000 or so. It should be enough for you and your family, depending on how much you want to splash out on rent and other living expenses.
