Selam, nasilsiniz bugun . - hi how are you today, (i hope lol)
I live in northampton, uk But my father and his girlfriend live in Northern Cyprus, so we come over for hols.
Yes im away of the turkish troops and that there is a bad feeling betweeen north and south, not 100% what its all about tho, sounds abit like the greeks got kicked out ant turks took over?
I'm trying t learn a little turkish as i feel its rude and very british to expect other countries to speak our language.

Paranoid at its worse. They were probably members of the GC secret police and recognised you. Its the first time I heard so much twaddle.

Well, do not put your mind in such difficult questions in order you understand Cyprus problem and T/CS etc etc.

Go directly to BINGOL or SOLHAN or Tunceli - all at East Turkey.
Benefit a. you will learn original Turkish language in 40 days (otherwise you will be execuded)
Benefit b. As European you will find your routes (Turks saying than Turkey is the begining and the end of the World -including Europe.
Benefit c. You will change your dressing habits- burga etc etc.
Benefit d.You will not have to walk around but you will continuesly rest at home (women prohibited in streets unless-various rules)

North Cyprus is just a very bad copy of the above. They had for several years some contacts with the bad Greeks of the Island and they lost their originality. They are behaving in a bad copied way of your and my life.-nothing interesting.

I wish you Good holidays and always remembewr-avoid the Greek side of Cyprus- they have the power to affect also you like they did with the T/cs.-Truly very bad guys

I am learning too, don't worry - my teacher is often in stitches with my mistakes - but once the grammar is (almost) learnt the rest isn't so bad, just a case of learning the vocabulary. If you get some small post it notes, write the Turkish name on and stick them up on various items like cupboards, fridge, etc, we had great fun at lessons when we were learning about body parts!!
