Aye, those little buggers are mutiplying like rabbits. Still I guess it does show the affluence of the GC population.

Is that a challenge for the 'procreative abilities' of various Cypriots?

Affluence has no link to increase in populations. On the contrary, its the less affluent who multiply like rabbits.

Regards Tania mou

tsk tsk...you don't know anything do you?

The richer the gc's get the more sri lankans are brought over to clean houses.

You civilised people are not aware that slavery was abolished. Tut tut tut.

The pay they get and the rights they dont have, are you sure you belong in the EU?

Well they tried bringing the Irish over to clean their houses but the zivania kept disappearing

Keep dreaming O wise one.............

Now that we have the formalities out of the way and we've identified me as the wise one and you as the ...erm..Irish one, lets move on.

I am proud to be Irish, so don't patronise me please. Ireland has a history full of famous scientists, physicians, chemists, poets and scholars and Ireland boasts one the best standards of living in the world for her people.

Went to the north part of Nicosia( turkish part) for first time in my life. And there were 2 things that i noticed:
1. There were almost no women on the streets
2. All the young guys had bad look in their eyes like they are going to jump on me just right now... and i was feeling so insecure

... i didnt like this much. I dont hink i want to go to live there :?

Irish 'jokes' of that ilk are cheap! I'm descended from (amongst others) Irish who survived events the joke-makers would crumble under!

I completely agree with all that you've written. I personally love Ireland, just makes me think who would leave all this for a pseudostate where you need to cross a ceasefire line to do your shopping from Orphanides.

In reality the Sri Lankan population of Cyprus is in decline; it is now very hard for any non-EU National to (legally) get a job here and Pink Slips (Work Permits) for existing non-EU Housemaids/Houseboys are not being renewed unless their Madam/Sir is very elderly or seriously unwell.

In direct conflict with EU legislation, non-EU nationals (including Sri Lankans), who have worked a qualifying period here (5 Years) are being refused Green Cards, as a matter of policy by this Government.

Mind you, there were a lot of SRi Lankans about in Limassol on Sunday; there was a mass rally against the LTTE (Tamil Tigers).
