The brown labrador (Barney) had cancer and was put to sleep just a year ago. The black one was his best friend. Don't know the horses name but that's our granddaughter, Elia, feeding it.

All very lovely. I liked the poor chocolate Labrador. They must all depart one day. Sad.

I am however also inrigued by the framed 'Manuscript' above the 'settee. Does it have a story to tell?

I am sure Birthday girl will be as much interested as I am. (keeping to topic - as always :? )

Yes, you are right. You can pick em up fresh and put them in a vase they last for years. They might fade a bit, but they do grow in the wild in Cypriot mountains.

 Naughty boy! You are not supposed to 'pick the flora'!

Last time I picked them up was in 194/55, when we would go up the mountains with the school party on 9 March to celebtrate Ergenekon. Thats another storiy. Those in the pic are home grown. I am more envoronment friendly. I was trying to explain their longevity. They are not endangered in Cyprus, I think. They are not feathery nor edible.

I am sure millions will believe you

Deniz, it's a property deed dated 1877. There are thousands of them locked away all over the UK, it is of no real value. Apparently if they have a famous name or seal then they can be worth quite a bit. I have a bundle of them, the oldest one is 1656, one day I may try and decipher them.

Yes, I've got some of those too, but only for a small part of the island.

Touche. Likewise. Hang on to them. They are worth more than the others you have.

no, my kitties are indoor only. we are big on that here in USA, and i do live in a city, so they are much safer inside. besides, cats sleep 18 hours a day naturally....they have a comfy life in the house![/quote]

Hello GG, our cats would like to live with you! I MAKE ours go out during the day, (but its not inner city here). We have two cats, a small sleek tabby girl called Zephie and a big fluffy grey with white bib girl, called KoKoMo. Kokomo is rather well-fed and my meaner friends refer to her as the local elephant. They both came from the local SPCA (rescue home). Zephie was adopted as a 'boy' and my daughter named 'him' Zephania (after Benjamin Zephania, the reggae poet) but soon after "Benjamin" began attracting a lot of gentlemen admirers, and turned out to be a "lady', who thus morphed into 'Zephie'.
