About the human rights rhetoric

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Piratis » Wed May 04, 2005 11:24 pm

What do you suggest us then?

What he suggest is probably to forget about our properties so he and his friends can enjoy them.

I wonder what he would say if his property was stolen. Would he say "oh well, I've seen worst" and forget about it? I don't think so.

The invasion caused to us 6000 dead and 200.000 refugees. The fact that we didn't let our refugees in the streets and we managed to rebuild our economy does not diminish the degree of the violation of our human rights.

LANDJO,

You want us to take your message globally. What you "globally" say is that hey they stole everything from you but look you finally succeeded in life and they failed. So whats the point in asking your rights back, don't be greedy.
This is the message you are sending LANDJO and we are not buying it!

For your information you only saw the showcase of Cuprus.Go to the refugee housing settlements to see the original problem still there.

And by the way where were you in 1974 and 1in 1975 when our refugees were living by the thousands in tents?

As for what the International organisations think about us, we saw their support all these years and we know their hypocricy.

Magic

You’ve done it again

You replying with yet more witless sarcasm, only endorses our visitor’s expressed view that “misleading rhetoric dominates the Cyprus problem”.

If you're a human rights lawyer my left nut is a aeronautical engineer and my right nut is a Justice of the Supreme Court.

The Human Rights abuses against the Greek Cypriots have been documented in volumes of Case Law and countless UN Resolutions. What can you offer to disprove any of this. My family knows they have seen human rights abuses with own eyes. Members were turtured by the Turks so get fucked you fraud. How do you think an entire ethnic population is removed from a region -Knives, bullets and napalm against civilians.

If you were genuinely a Human Rights Lawyer you would know that International Opinion is not a relevant consideration for Courts in considering abuses of human rights.

If you are indeed a human rights lawyer please tell about some of your glorious cases.

I bet you are a first year law student at B Grade Northern Cyprus University who thought."..I have a good idea, I'll get onto the internet and say I'm a Human Rights Lawyer(and activist)".

Gabaston, you got me wrong. I'm not trying to get rid of you, or any TC's from this site. These are only discussions. Anything we say here doesn't fly anyway. All this is, is pretty much a venting site. We throw ideas and opinions around here and thats it. Thats as far as it goes. Politicians are worse than we are. They're the vultures, we just hang by their words and react in our words.

I am only now starting to realize the extent of enmity and mutual distorsion that dominates this island (a read in the latest Cyprus Weekly did its part too). I have never claimed that the verdicts of human rights violations were unjustified. I only questioned the ludicrous extent to which they are discussed and the fact that the world is full of violations of a much larger scale which are hardly noticed at all by the international community. And I question if the GC really believe that the entire world will stand by and commiserate with a well doing population of 700.000 while people are being killed by the thousands only 1500 kilometers further South.

My friend, please tell us at last, what do you suggest to us?
What shall we do? How should we proceed further?
Accept the A-plan? Forget about everything and agree partition?

Give us your scientific deposition?
