both excellent choices with some of the best comedy scripts ever produced in the UK.
I have a soft spot for steptoe and son, also dads army -it has some beautifully portrayed caracters.......Although what this has to do with Russians and religion im not really sure??

Well my theory is all the great English comedians were workng class, had either been through the war, or done the club/theatre circuit after the war,or been in Ensa during and after the war.
Now all these people have gone and it seems to be the only way you can be funny these days is having a university education, do stand up or know every swearword in the english dictionary and include it in your act..Great comedy will always stand the test of tme, but when was the last time you saw truly great comedians???

There are repeats of the best of British comedy on sky , but sadly I do not think we will be seeing thier like again.
As you have said BOF, comedy these days is SMUT and FOUL LANGUAGE.
