8) Sorry but my opinion of all religion is that through the ages it has been used by the few to subjgate the many..those in exalted places have used it to keep the masses at bay and in their place.
And when it suited some people to jump on the power bandwagon they have invented their own religion to advance themselves.
The rewards have never been on earth for the believers, always after death, and in some cases causing death the path to the reward, while those exhalted ones lived in isolated happiness on earth.

Some religions are stuck in a time warp of ideals and clothing but are still happy to embrace 21st century innovations such as cars,tv,mobile phones and see nothing wrong in this.
Ok now fire away, but my religion is treat others as you wish to be treated and help the less fortunate. look after your world and it wil look after you.

Not so very different to:
Matthew 22:36-40

36 Master, which [is] the great commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour (sic) as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

This has always impressed me since I was shown it.

I was not aware of this quote from Matthew Observer, but your right the essence is the same.
My only link with St Matthew was it was my local church when i lived in London and i was a choir boy there. :)
