Cyprus Salary - Need Help!

Postby thbyte » Sat Jun 28, 2008 3:07 pm

Hello to everybody!
I have the intention to relocate to Cyprus. I already had some interviews with some IT companies from there. What I would like to know is what salary I should have per month to allow me to have a normal life (this not includes restaurants, clubs and all this kind of stuff).
One of the companies offered me 1500 euro (800 CY pounds) which it doesn’t looks like much from my perspective taking in consideration that I have 5 years of experience in .NET and EA. Can you please advise, is this amount ok for a normal life, rent, food, bills…?

P.S: I have posted this also on tourism thred, I think I should remove it from there.

The lower wages paid in Cyprus does initially give people a bit of a shock. Presume you'll have stoppages out of that 800 as well..ie nat insurance contributions.

Sorry to say it but thats the state of the market here. Price rises left right and centre....whereas wages in general verging on the pathetic even considering some peoples qualifications and experience..

Local Cypriots generally becoming more and more unhappy with the situation.

I think you can manage on that if you are cautious with your money...

1500 Euros sort of equals CY£900.

By cautious you mean do almost nothing with them?
If this is what you mean then it's really sad. I just wanted to spend 1 - 2 years in Cyprus, just for fun... and work offcourse.
