Ginger and white kitten needs home

Postby Tim Drayton » Fri Jun 27, 2008 6:40 pm

OK, I know you have heard it all before. Here it is anyhow.

I have just found an abandoned kiiten in the street. It is a ginger and white male. He is very friendly and purrs like mad when you pick him up.

He was covered in fleas but I have given him frontline spoton to take care of that. I have taken him to the vet and he has had one worming tablet and an injury to his hind right leg has been treated.

I already have two cats at home, both found on the street as kittens. I live in a flat and I don't think I can cope with any more at home. The vet says the best thing I can do with him if I don't feel able to look after him is take him back where I found him and release him back there. This is what I am going to do tomorrow unless I can find a good home for him.

The vet says he is very healthy, and the injury on his leg will heal by itself. He is old enough to eat solid food and take care of himself. He has a wonderful character: a real people's cat. If anybody can give him a home, please contact me. You can see him first before making a final decision.

No, I saw that other message, and it is just a coincidence.

My two regular cats are very, very upset about having a stranger in the flat. Quite honestly, I am on the verge of putting the little fellow out to fend for himself any minute now. The longer he stays here, the more he will get used to this place and to people, and it will be harder for him to get used to being a feral.

At the vets, I actually suggested paying to have him put down humanely. The vet thought it was better just to give him a chance on the street.

He is a delightful little fellow and I am sure he would settle into being a great family pet. I just hope somebody will contact me. I know it is an outside chance.

Tim I agree with the vet. Let him live like a cat than kill him like a human ;) If you live in a house with yard just keep him in the yard and put water and some foot to him every day. Cats are very good in surviving in the wild. If they were not then we wouldn't have so many of them. They would be extinct like some other species.

I live in a third-floor flat, that's the problem.

On reflection, this cannot be a feral kitten. He is too comfortable in the presence of people. Maybe somebody is looking for him? If anybody knows a family that has lost a pet kitten in Agios Athanasios/Limassol, I may have found him.

This story has a happy ending. I found somebody locally to adopt this charming little fellow.
