It occurred to me that the dog must have broken the land speed record and when he finally stopped and turned to deliver his appreciation, I could not help but laugh at the expression on his face.
Not usually the way to treat dumb animals, but there are times when one acts on impulse, must say I regretted my action immediately but doubt if it was anywhere near the speed of the dog's departure from the scene of his crime.
