[quote="soyer"]LUXEMBOURG: The Associated Press

EU foreign ministers agreed Monday to ease the economic isolation of the Turkish-Cypriot controlled part of Cyprus, in a move designed to bolster efforts to reunify the island.

Do not loose time to wait miracles.
I agree that T/Cs suffer because of certain restrictions however same have not been impossed by G/Cs.Same are in line with the international law (which ofcourse followed by EU any any other Int body) accordingg which no State can be recognized at the time same is a result of an invasion/occupation.Needless to say that the results of the restrictions are not affecting only the T/Cs but also the shelters AND ALSO THE FOREIGN SOLDIERS IN NORTH.

This rule is not a G/Cs rule but a UN one and, even some EU countries want to overlook same they can not ,since otherwise they will face problems with UN themselves.

Some minutes ago i was reading an article about the T/Cs universities efforts to enter the ERASMUS system. The funny thing is that they based their request on the provisions of the 60's treaty/constitution.!!!!!

The same is followed by Turkish side for the trade . i.e. they are choosing 1,2 articles of the Zurich treaty and they are requesting the application of the certain provisions. The question is what about the rest articles/provisions of the treaty?

The Turkish citizens in mainland Turkey (at least many of them) they do not accept or understand that their political system is not a democratic one but a semi/democratic. They believe this so deeply and nobody can convist them otherwise.

After so many years under mainland Turkey's control, T/Cs started to think same way. They have rights but no obligations- This what their "state"and particularly military propaganta convisted them for.

I do not believe that there are many T/Cs who can accept that trade restrictions with North is because of the international law and not because of G/Cs.They just can not understand this for the simple reason that they have learned to not understand or consider anything else exempt their internal propaganta.

HERE I REPEAT MY QUOTE FROM RELIABLE SOURCE.
LUXEMBOURG: The Associated Press

EU foreign ministers agreed Monday to ease the economic isolation of the Turkish-Cypriot controlled part of Cyprus, in a move designed to bolster efforts to reunify the island.

The measures "aim at enhancing trade and economic integration on the island," the EU ministers said in a statement, adding that they would help "support" both Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot leaders in finding a negotiated settlement to end the 34-year division of the island.

The European Union said the rules would lift duties on agricultural products and ease restrictions on companies that carry out services across the so-called Green Line that divides the two communities.

The value limit of personal goods carried by visitors crossing the line also will be raised from €135, or $209, to €260 to encourage economic integration.

The EU has in the past also urged the opening of more crossing points along the Green Line to bolster trust between the two communities.

Measures to ease the economic isolation of the Turkish Cypriot community have been held up for years by Greek Cypriot officials, who fear that opening trade ties with the northern part of the island would mean a de facto recognition of the breakaway state.

Only Turkey recognizes the Turkish Cypriot republic, and only the Greek Cypriot part of the island has joined the European Union, in 2004.

Cyprus was split into a Turkish Cypriot north and an internationally recognized Greek Cypriot south in 1974, when Turkey invaded after an Athens-backed coup aimed to annex the island to Greece.

This is where all little boys & girls Big Dreams comes true.!!!

Exactly some dreams do come true....I know you would feel gutted and sick at the thought of us TCs being given a level playing field, we will not give up hope as long as there is no solution we continue to believe that one day the world will recognized our plight and totally disregard a intrangient GC leadership, try saying NO one more time.

No VP, you have got me all wrong again, and yourself also, if I may say so.!!

I want nothing but the best for the TC's, but in the country of Cyprus and not on stolen land that the "trnc" is based on ethnic cleansing, killings and rapes, specially when the owners of the homes and land that you want to make it into your "new country" will never in a million years will let you have a comfortable sleep at nights, because they will wait for the right moment and take it back the same way it was taken away from them, because they are only "stone throw away" from you, so this is what I do not want to see happen, but you seem to be happy to take your chances, just because you think you have the upper hand now over the GC's. In my way of thinking, the GC's have not shown any sign of aggression for the past 30+ years towards the TC's, is not just because of the Turkish Army, but because in the hopes of reuniting the island at some point. If that option is once and for all taken away from them by force, then you would have created the same situation as it exists in Israel today and for the last 60 years. So stop being too cocky thinking you have gotten away with the bounty, because you have not. Don't forget, "Time Does Not Stand Still". Believe it or not, I'm looking after your best interest at heart and all Cypriots accordingly.

Now, lets get back to your "Disneyland Dreams" that you have gotten it so wrong...........again..

The EU has just increased the amount of how much trade in value goes across the "Green Line" to ease the isolation of the Turkish Cypriots, Turkish Cypriots, Turkish Cypriots, Turkish Cypriots, Turkish Cypriots, Turkish Cypriots, Turkish Cypriots, Turkish Cypriots.!!!

Take note VP, I did the above (Turkish Cypriots) deliberately and it was not a computer error. Did you read anywhere that the EU or anyone else for that matter, has ever said to help with the isolation of the "TRNC".??? NO they have not, because the "TRNC" does not exist as a country for them, but only the ROC, therefore no isolation can be lifted to help the "TRNC". They are ONLY helping to ease the isolation on the Turkish Cypriots, because they see the TC's as Cypriots and nothing more, who have been self isolated to the northern part of Cyprus because of the Turkish Occupation. If the above was not true, they would just grant the "TRNC" a full recognition and then there will not be any need for lifting any isolation. Common sense, wouldn't you agree.??

So VP, I'm very sorry that you feel very gutted with the above truth and holding your hopes on things that will not come true, except of course in the "Magic Kingdom" which I had displayed for you, but you must understand, that those dreams that come true are for the little boys and girls are only in their fantasies, and it is not meant for grown up individuals like yourself. Perhaps this is a good time to tell you VP, but Disneyland is nothing but a Fantasy, same as your wish with the "Green Line borders gone today and the World's tomorrow" is only a Fantasy and not a Reality. I know you feel gutted hearing this from me, and I feel gutted telling you the truth, but little boy or girl you are not anymore, so I hope you will be able to handle it...........................I'm so sorry to be the one to tell it to you straight.

WE ARE MAJORITY IN OUR COUNTRY IN TRNC. WE NEVER GONE BE MINORITY IN WHOLE CYPRUS.
YOU HAD THAT CHANCE ONCE AND YOU BLOW IT BY ENOSIS DEMAND.

G/Cs can have compensation for they property in TRNC and T/Cs will have compensation for they property in South.

If you go down and do away with RoC in order accept Greek Fedaral State of South Cyprus and likewise we accept to go down from TRNC to Turkish Fedaral State of North Cyprus.

TRNC will be for ever.

YAWN, YAWN, YAWN, YAWN, YAWN, YAWN, YAWN, YAWN!!

First of all, learn who is who on this forum as far as their ethnicity goes, or else you just look like a BIG JACKASS.!!

Secondly, there is no such thing as a country called "TRNC". If the "TRNC" was a country, why would you want to throw away your sovereign country to become just a lousy "Turkish Federal State of North Cyprus".

Thirdly, the TC's were minorities in whole of Cyprus before, as they are now, even in their own " country TRNC" with the Turkish Settlers.

I know, it's must be a curse from the gods.!!
