In the USA I've seen ads made by the Army that show war video-games and ask from the youngsters to join the army so they can live the "real thing".

I also know that many poor people over there join the army so they can have some job and pay for their education.

Basically these countries (USA, UK etc) brainwash these people and send them to fight and kill even more unfortunate people in other countries, so the interests of some elites can be served.

It is only natural that there is no respect for those soldiers, since they represent oppression and are so brainwashed that become killing machines with no morals and no mind of their own.

I think that is one of the most ridiculous statements I've ever heard. When it comes to brainwashing and oppression I think the USA and UK would come a long long way down the list of such countries.

Yes you are correct piratis. All armies use a certain amount of brainwashing to get their soldiers up to speed, the French, Greeks, Turkish, Russian, the list goes on.
It's called breaking the mould. How else do you think well trained armies are able to go into battle, if evereyone did their own thing they would all run home to mummy.
By the way your Cypriot regulars are no different, they are trained to kill..

American comic books are filled with advertisements for the US army. The slogan is something like 'there's fit and then there's ARMY fit'.

Although some books are designed for an adult audience and others appeal to teenagers and above, the adverts also appear in titles deliberately produced and marketed at younger readers.

And...every army in the world is the same. All seem to have their own websites, men in camo, big tanks.

Of course brainwashing exists everywhere, and in some countries it is worse. But not many other countries send their troops around the world in order to oppress others. And please don't tell me that the troops are send to "fight the evils and bring democracy", we all know that is not true and the presence of British bases in Cyprus is another proof for this.

Again, there is a huge difference between being trained to defend your country, and being trained to invade and oppress others.

There is no need for brainwashing to explain to the soldiers why they have to defend their own homeland, their own properties, and their own families . But there is a need for brainwashing to convince soldiers that there is some moral ground in having your troops send all around the world to oppress others.

If those soldiers were not brainwashed then they would know very well that oil and other interests of some elites are the real reasons.
