:D

Nice offer but no thank you, I am happy where I am, it is cheaper to live here.

I meant for an occasional holiday, Cheshire Cat. I thought you might have a special interest in Cyprus and enjoy holidaying there, and someone in Cyprus vice versa. Not me though, 'cause I don't live in Cyprus.

How long have you lived in France?

Yes I Know :)
I lived for 18 years in Cyprus, and made many friends, some still there a few sadly dead. I found living in Cyprus towards the end very stressful, and being very fair the heat was distressing.

I remember some wise words that a head teacher wrote in my year book when I left school. By all means look backwards, and remember the good times, but keep walking forwards to the future.

We moved over to France on the 4th of July 2005, that is when we took possession of our house "Ambre Lys" ( golden lily).

I would be delighted to meet some folks from the forum should they happen to stray in my direction though !!!

Thankyou for your reply, CC. I really enjoyed hearing from you.

You've lived in some interesting places, quite different from each other. I, too, have lived/worked in various quite different places (though all European or European heritage), and my last move back to NZ after 37 years away was more difficult than I had expected. Not only does my birth country alter over time, but I myself was quite different from the youngster I was when I left. I think your head teachers words are very apt (and wise).

I'm not sure if I've got this "quote" action sussed out yet. Crossed fingers!

CC, how can these be pics of France? :? I can see no evidence of the Frenchman pushing his bicycle whilst wearing the traditional beret/striped jumper and carrying the obligatory onions!

Gorgeous place you have there CC, you must be really proud.
What stunning views too.

If we ever do indeed 'stroll' your way.......................... :)

You would be made very welcome, the coffee would be on and homemade cakes on the table.

We are 9 kms away from the nearest town, oddly enough the old beret is still worn here everywhere.

I love this part of France, the people are really friendly and easy going.

Yes I am proud of my home although only 2 out of the 3 bedrooms are habitable. Lack of cash sadly, but nil despirandum , one day it will be my turn on the lottery.

I am sure it will, good luck to you both.

Have you ever read Carol Drinkwater's (from All Creatures Great and Small) autobiography? Cannot remember the title - Olive something or other! She married a Frenchman and seeing your pictures and reading your above comments reminded me of it!
