Well done Turkey

I must congratulate Turkey on a superb performance against Germany. With such a reduced squad through injury and bans they put in a really good performance. They really deserved a better result for their effort. Their fans should be proud of them.
Cheers Norman.

Did not watch the match and I had no preference either way, but the 'sports round-up' guy said that the result should have gone Turkey's way

Glad to see everyone congratulating the team with the most fouls and yellow/red cards in the tournament.

If they could have had a bigger squad, they could have beat Germany as well (to death probably).

Excellent play and sportsmanship!!!!!!!!!

We are talking football here , politics aside Turkey played much better than Germany .
Germany did not deserve to be in the final , as for red cards yellow cards pushing and shoving all teams do it.
Looks like Spain might just do it !

CBBB,well spotted, it is nice (great even) to learn that there are still some people capable of expressing their own opinions. :)

I was never much good at playing 'Follow the Leader' myself, bet YOU weren't either.

Is it true that the Turks 'Invaded the pitch' after the game ?, Oh well, 'Old Habits Die Hard !'

Turkey played better than Germany and deserved to go through. I was at the Corner Pub in Nicosia watching the game and when Turkey scored the first goal, astonishingly, there were a few cheers. May be these were people that had a flatter on Turkey but I sensed that as the matched progressed, Turkey gained the sympathy of many people, through the sheer effort the players put in this game.

Anyway, I supported Turkey because by habit I always support the underdog. Linking sport to politics is a cretin habit that many Cypriots have.

Where did I link sports to politics?

I was merely stating what I heard on the BBC (sorry I wasn't thinking, it must have been propaganda again!).
