Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

May be these were people that had a flatter on Turkey but I sensed that as the matched progressed, Turkey gained the sympathy of many people, through the sheer effort the players put in this game.

Anyway, I supported Turkey because by habit I always support the underdog. Linking sport to politics is a cretin habit that many Cypriots have.

Bananiot, this 'Cretin Habit' you make mention of, would it extend to the British Government (who have decided to ban the Zimbabwean cricket team because they cannot break the resolve of Robert Mugabe) OR, do you make exceptions when it concerns those who have a strangle hold on your own country ?.

If the latter, one wonders is it out of fear, respect, forgetfulness or blind allegiance that you make such allowances.

Condemn the habit of mixing the two issues if you will, but please do not single out your own countrymen for those habits which are blatanly obvious in the political arena.

Turkey played well and so did Germany, both teams should be proud of their performance.

If they could have had a bigger squad, they could have beat Germany as well (to death probably).

Excellent play and sportsmanship!!!!!!!!!

CBBB,well spotted, it is nice (great even) to learn that there are still some people capable of expressing their own opinions. :)

I was never much good at playing 'Follow the Leader' myself, bet YOU weren't either.

Is it true that the Turks 'Invaded the pitch' after the game ?, Oh well, 'Old Habits Die Hard !'

Eliko,
I am afraid that you are fast metamorphosing into something quite unrecognisable. In my honest opinion. I thought of all people, with a modicum of common sense, you would be able to keep national animosity separate from a sporting event.

From now on your sweet language is suspect.

I fear you are suffering the absence of the fishnetless one.

Regards and have a good day as I will. Turkey played a good game and the whole world knows it. They can be proud of their squad.

Regards

Gentlemen, I take it then that 'Gordon Brown' can (along with most other politicians) safely mix politics with sport and receive no criticisms, yet 'WE' of the flock are denied such freedom.

Perhaps 'cause we is Cypriots'. We should be able to discuss sports withoutr the 'sidetracking'. Otherwise we will end up in a 'pitch of bloodshed' again. What the Scotsman doeas is non of our business. UK is going down the drain anyway. Hence the flood of expats into Cyprus.
