I dunno mate/matess but I did try and make him/her feel welcome.

Is it me or is there some kind of conspiracy, from the other place, going on to disrupt the smooth running of the forum. I think I've noticed a couple of instances this pm.

I don't know of any conspiracy, but there are plenty of anal retentive types in both places.

I did look at one thread on this forum and was totally disgusted with the foul language used. I shall watch a while, but if that thread was the norm then I'll not be staying. I like a good reasoned discussion and I had hoped to get that here, but not at the cost of putting up with such vulgarity.

You cant make a decision based on reading one or two threads , yes it is a vibrant Forum mainly due to the abundance of political threads and controversial subjects. I dont think that the language on the whole is that bad or at least not worst than some of the most popular TV shows in the UK. Many interesting contributors , some on a sabbatical currently !!!
What on earth brought you to this beautiful village of Theletra , I take it is the new village since to the best of my knowledge the old village is uninhabited.

ps.my father was born in Theletra , as a young boy I used to walk to Theletra from Stroumbi to visit my late grandfather . Still have family in Theletra .

Aargent, strangely enough (and may I assume that I am aware of the thread you looked in on ?) the person so often prone to resort to foul language and shocking insult, is a man of similar age to yourself.

How gratifying to know that 'Age' does not neccessarily produce such tendencies ( as you indicate by your stated aversion to such abuse) I was beginning to view the prospect of growing older (not old) with certain misgivings.

I can't but agree, and I will stick around for a while. Old age is supposed to bring wisdom, but not to everyone, it is however better than the alternative.
Militades, we found Theletra a year past February and a house for sale that ticked all the boxes, we moved in last October, and we love it here. The Villagers have been great, we are trying to learn a bit of Greek as not many of them speak English, and why should they. Nicos, the Mukhtar is a really nice guy and he invited us to Christmas dinner with his family -- we really enjoyed it.
There are a few people now living and renovating in the Old Village but the streets aren't any wider
