8) there have been two great African leaders, both South
african - Shaka Zulu who united the Zulu nation against the british and the Boers in war.
And of course Nelson Mandela who united the African nation in peace against those same Afrikaaners....You may suggest that Mandela is being manipulated by others for their benefit, but you cannot deny that he is as honest and forthright as any man on the planet...if he really wanted i think he could stand for president in any of maybe 30 different counries, and win by a landslide in any of them. In politics he was a man to look up to in world of shit political leaders

BOF, Asolutely............. unfortunately the man's qualities will be the very tool that those with ulterior motives will use as a weapon against him.

In my opinion.

CIA agent alleged to have met Bin Laden in July.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2001/nov/01/afghanistan.terrorism

Two months before September 11
Osama bin Laden flew to Dubai for 10 days for treatment at the American hospital, where he was visited by the local CIA agent, according to the French newspaper Le Figaro.

The disclosures are known to come from French intelligence which is keen to reveal the ambiguous role of the CIA, and to restrain Washington from extending the war to Iraq and elsewhere.
Bin Laden has often been reported to be in poor health. Some accounts claim that he is suffering from Hepatitis C, and can expect to live for only two more years.

According to Le Figaro, last year he ordered a mobile dialysis machine to be delivered to his base at Kandahar in Afghanistan.

They cant find this guy, with a machine hanging out of his side!?!

and you support the notion that the only option available for the removal of Turkish troops from the occupied part of Cyprus is WAR and yet you have the audacity to call me a traitor.

...I think a lot of people believe this. You think Turkey really wants to leave Cyprus??

Turkey will be reluctantly forced to remove her self from Cyprus on political terms not on war terms.
The EU will NEVER accept Turkey as a member while she occupies an EU member's territory , Turkey knows that and so do the T/Cs.
Our government will never capitulate and accept the status quo and neither will our people including the majority of T/Cs who are not inside Turkeys knickers .
Negotiations will achieve the utmost , war will destroy the utmost.

So let me get this straight. Mandela, a man who was a terrorist, ordered the killing of innocent people- black, white, coloured through violence and bombing, all in the name of "freedom" is now a hero. Thats like giving Bin laden the peace prize. Dont forget for one second the innocent people who died as a result of mandela's orchestrated violence. Blood on your hands doesnt wash off just with soap and water

greggy, in case I have not done so already, welcome to the forum and good luck with your postings.

Your comment regarding 'Blood on the Hands' interests me since it would appear that in politics, it easily dissipates in tandem with any evils that may be associated with such blood (in the passage of time).

Nelson Mandela is NOW presented as a great statesman and obviously enjoys his status as such.

He has become an exceptionally valuable 'Pawn' in the game of 'Chess Africa' and will be used as a spokesman for the furtherance of whatever plans those in 'Real Power' may have in mind.

Compared to the 'Bloodied hands of Bush, Blair, Olmert (& Co), Mandela's is a mere drop.

In my opinion.

Nonsense , go read your history , and why do you use inverted commas for freedom , does it not appeal you or is it a commodity privileged only to the elite few. Mandela led his anti apartheid party to victory , every nation on earth has bestowed upon Mandela an honour.
May I also ask you , where on earth have you been during the last 18 years , your tone in saying [ "So let me get this straight. Mandela, a man who was a terrorist, ordered the killing of innocent people- black, white, coloured through violence and bombing, all in the name of "freedom" is now a hero. That's like giving Bin laden the peace prize. """]
translates into total aghast at the thought that Mandela is a revered figure through out the world !!! As for you comparing Mandela to Bin Laden may I say what a load of bull mate, never heard so much rubbish in all my life , Bin Laden a dedicated fanatic who wants to destroy the West , Mandela who wanted his people free from oppression and did no harm to those that imprisoned him for 19 years you thinks is comparable to Bin Laden.
What did you have for breakfast !
