Looking for Tortoise Breeders in Cyprus.

Postby Pale » Wed Jun 25, 2008 6:31 pm

Hello,

I am looking for a tortoise (land turtle) breeder in Cyprus. Would you know of any or would you know where I can search for one? :)

Thank you very much. :)

yes, I would think the lady with 20-30 tortoises would be able to point you in the right direction.
Best of luck!

Tortoises are ready and waiting by the dozens here in the North. No doubt imported from Turkey. I gave my 35 yr old Tortoise away to a friend when I moved here 5 years ago, and he is still doing fine. I am always tempted to buy one here when I see them, but it just doesn't seem quite right...........

Over here I have seen tortoises mistaken for terrapins and swimmimg for their life in a restaraunt's pool feature, and likewise a terrapin in a box of sand with land tortoises placed in the waiting area of a private clinic to entertain the children!!! Good luck with your search!!!

A few years ago at 'Carnival' time the children brought home a very small tortoise from one of the many stalls. She was lovely but never seemed to grow: poor thing only survived a couple of years :( :(

............You don't say!

Poor thing did grow about half an inch in total, she even hibernated (which I foolishly did not think she would do over here! ). She loved fresh apples and lettuce (yes, cut to tortoise size bites!) and playing in the grass. It was a sad day that June when she 'went'
