Mob Rule

Postby Johnson&Johnson » Wed Jun 25, 2008 2:22 pm

These kids are out of control, they need a swift baseball bat around the back of the head.

What's going on with the younger generation here ? I mean, we were not exactly angels, but attacking old people in their own homes ? No way we would have even dared to speak rudely to someone older.

These guys who attack in mobs are almost always cowards

Youths beat up couple after parking complaint
By Anna Hassapi

A COUPLE were threatened with a gun and beaten up by a group of youths when they complained about a car that was blocking their entrance.

The incident took place in Fassoula outside Limassol just before midnight on Monday, when a 58-year-old man, accompanied by his 57-year-old wife and a group of friends, returned home from a night out. They noticed that a number of vehicles were parked outside their residence, blocking the entrance to their own parking. The 58-year-old went to the village Youth Centre, where he asked for the cars to be moved.

The parked cars belonged to ten people present at the Youth Centre at the time, who responded to the request with threats and swearing. Four of the men then went to the couple’s house, assaulted the 58-year-old and his wife in their yard and threw stones at them. One of the group, a 19-year-old man, pulled a gun from a friend’s car and pointed it at the couple.

The men then fled the scene and the couple were taken to Limassol General Hospital by ambulance. The man sustained wounds and cuts all over his body, as well as bruises to the head, while his wife sustained wounds to various parts of her body and a fracture to her left shoulder. Both were given first aid and released.

The four men were yesterday tracked by police, who found a shotgun and a rifle at the house of one of the suspects, a 22-year-old from Limassol. The suspects were yesterday taken before Limassol District Court, where a three day remand was issued.

They were charged with conspiracy to conduct a crime, assault, causing actual real bodily harm, illegal entry, gun possession, illegal carriage of a rifle and threat of violence. Police continue to investigate the case.

I hope the cops caused them a bit of actual bodily harm in the cells. Or maybe they just fell over in the back of the van...

Have none of you noticed a change in Cypriot youth of late. Their parents will make it right on their behalf, and they will be back causing more mayhem.

when i first moved here I saw about 30 cypriots from frederick (not sure, it may have been one of these other tinpot colleges that now masquerade as universities) attack an old shepherd and beat the crap out of him.

i couldn't believe my eyes; these guys were actually boasting to each other about how many punches they had landed on the poor guy - i never saw anything like it, not even during growing up in inner city London

Wow, I didn't know there was a Cypriot mafia. Got any more info on them? Are they like the Corleone's in the Godfather?

Purdey

yeah the parents here always back up their kids, even if the kids are in the wrong

I my father telling the teachers at school "if he's naughty, just hit him, OK?"

Cypriot kids repulse me, even the little toddlers. i know it sounds horrible, but they are so spoilt and badly behaved it puts me off having kids. no wonder they grow up into idiots.

You guys have no idea. The whole "mob" thing as you call it is purely a football team thing here in Cyprus. I know cause i have many friends involved. A teenager in Cyprus considers his football team as an expression of
1) Their beliefs
2) Their patriotism (or lack of)
3) Their machissimo

eg the 2 big teams are complete contrasts.

If you're an omonia supporter your idol is Che Guevara, you are a Cypriot NOT A GREEK, you are a communist (or you think you are), you despise globalisation, and you despise governments...(bordering on anarchists)
most of all you despise fascists

If you're an aboel supporter you're idol is Grivas, you are a capitalist, you are a Greek not a Cypriot, you are a fasist and you sympathise with extreme right movements in europe.

Now all this needs to be discounted to the understanding of a 16 year old but you get my drift.

I have an aboel friend and an omonia friend and we've spent countless nights debating this. They think that if it wasn't for the teams there wouldn't be any gangs now.
