Not so Controversial Topic - No 3

Postby Sotos » Tue Jun 24, 2008 3:13 pm

ok I guess my previous topic was too controversial even for the controversialists of the forum  So this is less controversial. Do you think that TV and newspapers should show images of people starved to death, children with body parts missing from a conflict, people torn to pisses by a bomb and such kind of things? Maybe showing such things will make us realize better what is happening in the world than just words and make us more sensitive. Maybe ignorance is a bliss and we just want to enjoy our lives without bothering about those others? Maybe the TV stations are using the pain of those people to profit from their misery? What do you think?

Yes, I am all for it. Ignorance is bliss when nothing is there to witness.

Sotos I said light up the forum...you made it heavy....

Ok seriously....I believe that sometimes its need to see the truth as it is. Some of the videos the made for car accidents because of speeding or alcohol were cruel...even though made my hair stand up, those images stay in your mind and when you are speeding or you go out for drinks you remember those images and try to drive safely or not drive if you are going to drive.

On the other hand when people post photos from people that they have some sort of physical problems and some of their parts are not normal...people use them to make fun of them, laugh at them or to tease friends etc. Also I disagree when they use photos or people who obviously have some sort of problem to raise money. Its like USING those people as an advertisement.
