I actually think Sotos did this out of naivity rather than a deliberate intention to shock.

I am not as naive as you think I made this topic intentionally to shock especially the puritan conservatives like Miltiades who are so old now that they can not remember what sex means!! Some people wanted controversy and I gave them what they asked for And from what I see from the replies so far almost nobody really touched the topic!! Do you people think it is a CRIME if two 13 years old have sex with each other? Is any of the guys here going to tell me that when he was 13-15 years old if he had the chance to have sex with an 18 year old girl he would not?? Are you gay or what? Or you are just too puritans to admit it? You need a reality check.

Surely the question is: are 13 year old children mentally and emotionally aware enough to make that decision? Do you seriously think that the world would be a better place if 13 year olds are freely allowed to be sexually active?

The whole point of being a parent is to ensure that your children are protected until they can make decisions for themselves and sufficiently educated so that they make the right decisions when the time comes.

If you think that children should be allowed to do what they want because they just feel like it, desire it, think it's 'cool' or because they have no control over their raging hormones then your parenting style is dubious at best.

What children want is not always what is best for them. That's where responsible parenting comes in.

As I said, by the strictest definition, we are not an adult until forty four, it was the same from the time of the Classical Greeks, to the Victorians, and then some how at 18, you became an adult.

Our State appears to have robbed us of this dignity, and now beyond the Baby Boom, we have the good fortune of prosperity as well as Freewill to forget, but it too has a Social Cost. (The North/South divide, Global Warming (Few now can take the time to peform their civic duty beyond the needs of their family, with a sense of Charity)).

Why post the image of a 2 year old if you wished to discuss teenagers?

If you want to begin another thread to discuss age of consent with teenagers please do so but this one started badly.

A very good point, but I'd say these are things that need to be stopped too. Children should be allowed to be children. They'll spend most of their lives as 'adults' so they'll have plenty of time to do all the 'grown up' stuff.

Maybe these things are easy for us to preach about because we don't live in extreme poverty or situations where children have to grow up faster in order to survive, but I would hope that we can all try and do our bit to extend the privileges we have to those that haven't got them.

My dear friend , when it comes to protecting children and standing up to "vitriolic " garbage such as that posted by our friend Sotos , I'm afraid I have zero tolerance , also I don't care what drives these beastly people , pedophiles , to commit such hideous crimes against innocent little children . My dear M, forgive me for not protesting too much - but I would ask you to keep in mind that if and when the time comes and if the matter was one of importance and one that appealed to my conscience I would support you (or any other member) in the same way, within the rules of the forum. That wouldn't mean that I have a "crush" on you or physically love you in any way.

I see some one has posted a gay thread - have you contributed? A photo of some buggery perhaps or one of someone "who's had their offensive bit cut off and shoved up theirs"?
