One person's freedom fighter is another person's terrorist. The same people that labled EOKA terrorists at the time also called Nelson Mandela and the ANC terrorists. Ask any Black man if they think Mandela was a terrorist and see what answer you get.

Its a question of ethics and whether you support colonialism or freedom.

Rebel, there is much truth in what you have submitted and it is obvious that you are able to draw your OWN conclusions to what is taking place in the world.

I DO wonder what your views are on the recent threats by the Ex-Colonials to impose even harsher sanctions upon the suffering people of Zimbabwe ?, such sanctions being suggested as a means to 'HELP' those who are already experiencing severe deprivation.

The latest suggestion being that the 'Electricity can be switched off' (statement from an Ex-Colonial Minister).

We have one member who supports murder and deprivation (by the Ex-Colonials) as a means to 'Free' the people.

I personally think that removing ALL sanctions and assisting the nation to become self-sufficient, would be a far better plan.

As to Robert Mugabe, I wonder how he would react if he WERE to be offered genuine help, it is quite obvious that he does not wish his country to become a 'Puppet' of the West, perhaps THAT is where the root of the problem lies.

What is your question exactly?

The serfs were tied to the land. No inheritance rights (under the Latins). The landowners could and did throw tenants off the land whenever they wished. Under the Ottoman rule, tenants were able to inherit.

You answer my questions by another question. Just great.

The great man himself Nelson Mandela is more than likely this Friday when attending his 90th year celebrations , to condemn Mugabe just as the entire Universe has , including most of African states , and yet our own ELIKO , ( WHAT A WASTE OF AN OPPORTUNITY ) condemns the Ex- Colonialists !!!! Your sense of judgments leaves me stone cold !!. How on earth can an educated Cypriot have such a pitiful concept of international events , Mugabe has crushed the spirit of Zimbabwe and Brains here blames the colonialist powers !!!!
Bloody hell man where do you keep your brains !!

Thanks to Bananiot for bringing to our attention that the great man has allready condemned Mugabe .
It seems our Eliko has once again Got it wrong !!!
Mandela also refered to Eliko saying that he thought his outburst, Elikos nonsense on Miltiades being an accesory to murder , was childish naive and bloody stupid !!!

Mandela expresses anger at Mugabe

CAPE TOWN - Former South African President Nelson Mandela has slammed Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe, labelling him a tyrant who has held on to power for too long.

Mandela, who launched the global partnership for Children of the United Nation's Children Fund with his wife Graca Machel in Johannesburg on Saturday, said some African leaders had liberated their countries, but had then overstayed their welcome.

"They want to die in power because they have committed crimes. The tyrant of the day can be destroyed by you and I," he said.
He said leaders like Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, Pompeii, and Adolf Hitler had also been brought down by the ordinary masses.

Asked by reporters whether he was specifically referring to Mugabe, Mandela snapped back: "Everybody here knows who I am talking about".

You said yourself that land was requisitioned by the Ottoman Empire, even if the Cypriots at that time were given land owner. So whats your point?

Fine! The Ottoman Turks gave land ownership to their Cypriot subjects but STILL requisitioned much of it. Are you happy I stated it in that way now??

What a load of DUNG !!!

Trust me, ask in private what the leaders think of the ex-colonialists and it will probably be worse than Mugabe. Its because of western colonisation of Africa, that many of their states have seen civil war and leaders like Mugabe.

Does being educated automatically mean that you are always on the side of colonialist powers??

Let me show you a pattern of countries that have been meddled with by colonialism one way or another and the leaders they have had ruled them.

Chile - General Pinochet.
Greece - Greek Junta
Iraq - Saddam Hussein
Zimbabwe - Robert Mugabe

im sure there are many more which dont come to mind now...

Thanks for the vote of .....
Why on earth are you also now blaming the ex colonialists for the ruthless way this tyrant is running his country. What is it with mostly 99 % of Cypriots constantly blaming the West for every single travesty that happens in the world. I know bloody ""AMERICANICON DAXTILO !! Typical , get 4 Cypriots together ask them to discuss any International calamity and all will say , Re koumbare i pousto agloameriani fteoun .
You are no different mate , as for the Sun newspaper well I haven't heard of this particular one I suspect its a Middle Eastern publication of some sort , Eliko might be more familiar with this than I.

Concerned member, by your own words you have exposed your innermost feelings, you have quite clearly indicated that you are in favour of removing Robert Mugabe from office 'By any Means'. (such is your implication)

Since the 'Means' employed by your 'Mentors' has been the usual underhanded tactics of subterfuge, infiltration, lies (a plenty) and general chicanery at every possible level, coupled with aggressive and forceful measures which culminated in violence and destruction, starvation and deprivation, death and disease, YOU have placed yourself (and YOUR opinions) in a position firmly in support of them and whatever murderous actions they may propose next.

There is little point in trying to 'Wriggle out' of your 'Clear' opinions on this issue, you may now look forward to the further sanctions YOUR 'Heroes' are about to impose on the innocents of Zimbabwe.

For as much as Robert Mugabe may be hated, he has shown himself to be a man who stands by his principles (which in this case means that he is strong in defiance of every hardship and underhanded trick YOUR 'Mentors' have used in an effort to depose him).

If you care to examine those who have recently joined forces against Robert Mugabe, you will no doubt notice that they are ALL of the same ilk, 'Minions of YOUR Mentors'.

In my humble opinion of course.

Whatever YOU may consider MY views to be of YOUR character is of no consequence in the matter under discussion.

What YOU have revealed about YOURSELF is.

Interesting that you should end your comments with the words:- "Shame on you !!!"

Perhaps a little THOUGHT might help you decide where the "Shame" really belongs.

Eliko , have you read anywhere that a single African leader or any leader for that matter has put the blame for the mess in Zimbabwe on the doorstep of the West or on the doorstep of any other country other than exclusively the tyrannical methods of this dictator ?
Apart from you having these "macaronic" , or in your case " aggouria xidata " ideas about Robert Mugabe is there any one else around the globe that shares your ideas. All African leaders have now condemned this brutal dictator and are asking him to go.
You' re mixed up Eliko , just look at your avatar choice mate
