State of Property market in Paphos?

Postby dougdonuts » Mon Jun 23, 2008 12:55 pm

What is the current state of the property market in Cyprus (Paphos area).
Are properties selling for their asking prices?
How long does a property stay on the market until sold?
Or is it as bad a Spain where things take ages to sell and you need to knock 25% off the price to achieve a sale.
What are the typical costs when selling?

I very much doubt that resales are sold in Paphos but only new ones. I could be wrong but doubt it very much. If you own a home in Paphos and surrounding area's and would like to sell it, good luck.

Try the Cyprus Living forum which is Pahos based. They have sections with property experts. Sorry I can't help more.

Are you looking to buy? If so, I can help and have a vast experience of trying to sell in this dead market.

I was looking to buy but not anymore.I think that brits are now aware of the title deed issue and are being cautious to say the least.Add to that exchange rate and U.K. property crash and you wuold have to do some real soul-searching to purchase in an overpriced market

The Property markets are flat all over now, it has been like this before and they have recovered. In the U.K. and Cyprus the markets were very hot and I think that the cooling is comparative to the heat. It will I am sure recover, but slowly ( IMHO).

If you have the money go for it. Don't expect a good return on your investment in the near future. Plenty of ex pat resales in and around Paphos.
