salt or chlorine?

Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

indeed, sotos, filtering the sea water to remove particles would be helpful, in any case. pipes are expensive because they demand a right of way, a 'foot print' if you will, on the land. starting small means trucking.

However, it is possible for the Government on the other hand to configure a process which takes into account the energy we can get from the salt water when it is heated by the sun as it travels uphill to the high points of the island, so that the energy required from other sources to desalinate it (for other uses) is managed more efficiently, while grey water can be added to the process along the way, sub stations may provide for an alternative use of the water with salt but clean.

...in any case this issue is complex because the use of fresh water is still necessary to maintain a level of 'saltiness'.

welcome geordie, and if you look up google you'll find that salt water pools are better for you and less costly to maintain....

in spain, if a fire breaks out all private pools water would be used to stop the fire. this is a fact of life if you own a private pool.
my problem with hotel pools is that the maintenance is not what it should be. we have stayed at hotels both north and south and none check the pool water correctly. in the uk a public pool is checked every 2 hours. a pool should be checked to different specifications as to size, number of users. hrs in use. also in cyprus i believe the heat may also be a factor.
the beaches need cleaning why would you want to sit or swim with someone elses rubbish?
for me a private pool is the only option. safe and clean!

I hate these swimming pools right next to the sea. These should be heavily taxed, Period.

being out of touch with the matter, I always assumed that swimming pools in Cyprus would naturally be fillied with sewater. Now I know better. Seems like waste of good drinking water though!
