Turkish Programming on PIK2

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Yes she is right. Every Friday night the film was Turkish and many people watched it.

Well, look at the bright side. When you are not constantly bombarded with films you look forward to the film and come Friday the TC's were very, very happy. Of course in those days they only showed one Greek film per week too and the rest of the show were English language weekly series such as The Fugitive, The Saint, Dr Kildair etc. Mainland Greek tv was non existent at the time. Of course, you needed to pray before turning on your tv set for reception to be fairly ok. Especially during the winter tv receprion was oweful.

Of course 1 in 7 aint too bad and Piratis would soon inform you that it was more than your share, according to your minority status.

Television is a sewer that pours the ideolgly of vested interestes directly into your home. Television is also dead - it just hasn't realised it yet. ;)

Still I like a good movie now and again. And the simpsons. And the odd sifi series. And a good documentary. ;)

Sorry to say that but I think your mum or you make mistake because 60 PIK used to show TURKISH Films once a month not once a week and it was late time too.

I was not born at that time. However If Cyprus could afford only one TV channel then obviously the programs should be proportionate to the viewers. This is how TV channels work, not just in Cyprus but worldwide.
Of course the best would be to have two (or more) TV channels.

Or not have a state TV channel at all and have community channels. (in which case I suspect the TCs would not afford to have one)
