[b]GREEK CYPRIOT AUTHOR EXPLAINS GREEK CYPRIOT ATROCITIES[/b

Postby soyer » Sat Jun 21, 2008 1:58 pm

Greek Cypriot author, Antonis Angastiniyotis, who questioned Greek Cypriot nationalism in his written works and in his documentary "The Voice of Blood" drew attention to the mass massacres carried out by the Greek Cypriots against the Turkish Cypriots, dedicated his new article entitled, "Barbarism Against the Turkish Cypriots. The other side of the coin", to the Turkish Cypriot schoolchildren who were brutally massacred in Murataga
in 1974 and brought to light the Greek Cypriot brutality.

And when are you going to make a similar video showing the other side of the coin?

The fact is that it is the Turks that started all conflicts in Cyprus, and it is the Turks that massacred 1000s and 10s of thousands of Cypriots at a time in their attempts to keep the whole or part of our island under their rule.

The TCs lost only some 100s of people. I am not saying that you should not grieve for them, but you can not use them to present yourselves as the victims because the fact is that it is you who started the conflicts where those people were killed, and you have killed many many more Cypriots.

You talking about only one side of the coin and not the other would be like the Nazis presenting only their own casualties and trying to show they have been the victims. (and believe me, the Germans had A LOT of casualties in the war which they started)

Lets take the example that you refer above for example, Murataga.

The incident in Murataga happened on the 14th of August of 1974. That was after Turkey with the help of TCs invaded Cyprus on the 20th of July and started killing 1000s of Cypriots, ethnically cleansing 100s of thousands, raping under age girls and committing a ton of atrocities. On the other hand, the TCs in Murataga and a few other places lost all together no more than 200-300 people.

So, as always, the Turks started that conflict and the Turks have killed way way more people. And yet you come here trying present yourself as the victim because in the war you started with the aim to annihilate us from the north part of our country (as it was your plan since the 50s) you also had some casualties.

If he was a Turk he wouldn't just get death threats. He would be dead already. Remember Hrant Dink and the 1000s of other people that were murdered or send to jail in Turkey for daring to mention the crimes that Turks committed?

It is obvious that the Turks want to magnify that 0.5% of history that suits them, and silence the rest 95.5% that doesn't.
