[b]GREEK CYPRIOT AUTHOR EXPLAINS GREEK CYPRIOT ATROCITIES[/b

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Piratis » Sat Jun 21, 2008 5:34 pm

beginning of Cyprus problem start when Greek Cypriots call for ENOSIS to join they motherland

Here, I present you the begging of the Cyprus Problem (according to Soyer):

During the Greek War of Independence in 1821, the Ottoman authorities feared that Greek Cypriots would rebel again. Archbishop Kyprianos, a powerful leader who worked to improve the education of Greek Cypriot children, was accused of plotting against the government. Kyprianos, his bishops, and hundreds of priests and important laymen were arrested and summarily hanged or decapitated on July 9, 1821.

How did those "criminal Cypriots" dare to ask for their freedom like the rest of Greeks did? It is the Cypriots fault that asked for their freedom and their "nice rulers" had every right to butcher them and punish them.

Of course it was no problem at all that Cypriots were slaves of the Turks and the British. The "problem" was that Cypriots asked for their freedom and self determination.

result of this answer to ENOSIS was TAKSIM mean partition nothing like "plan to annihilate all Greek" believe me

So how could you achieve partition without annihilating all or most Greek Cypriots from north Cyprus? The GCs have been the majority in northern part of Cyprus (just like every other part) for 1000s of years. So how could you have a "Turkish Republic" with a population that would be 80% Greek?

Cut the excuses Soyer. Your demand for partition required the annihilation of Greek Cypriots from the north part of Cyprus.

What we wanted, the freedom of Cyprus from foreign rulers, not only it was our right since it was the democratic choice of the overwhelming majority of Cypriots, but it did not involve any harm to TCs or anybody else.

Except if you are going to tell me that no part of the Hellenic world should have ever been liberated, and a free Greek state should not have been created, because the Turks spread their minorities on Greek lands during the time their empire ruled our area.

As a minority in Cyprus you have a right for your human, democratic and minority rights. You have no right to impose your will against the desires of the Cypriot people as a whole. We are not living in the era of the Ottoman empire anymore.

You stepped in when coerced by the British during the 1955-1959 independence movement. Cypriots revolted against the British for self determination, and we had every right to do so. The TCs sided with the British and received unfair rewards under the 1959 Zurich Agreements, which later caused the constitutional crisis in 1963. You once again desire to negotiate an even more unfair settlement in the current peace talks which would lead to more of the same. The Turkish plans for partition were first penned in 1958 with the formation of the infamous TMT which terrorised Greek Cypriots. This inevitably led to EOKA reacting to your recalcitrance, purely for the fact that you aligned your selves with the British oppressors. EOKA was not formed to target the TCs, but it is the TCs that made themselves a target.

Why did we side with the Brtis ask yourself that question, ask yourself what indepdence woudl have meant for us if you were given a free hand to gift Cyprus to Greece, you were not going to be put in the fire, we had to survive and survive we did.

...same coin two faces. get over your side of the coin, and consider who is holding it.

A brave Greek Cypriot presents us with these affects, and you soyer are looking for pity. Where is the same courage from Turkish Cypriots, neither of us smell, we stink, and using the lives of those who were victims to this ignorance as a support for one side or the other makes you a small small person. ...as for you CanDiaz, "you couldn't care less" is the problem, just so long as you are not the one getting hurt, of course you never heard of Dink, and of course you doubt that "Greeks" and "Turks" are no different, instead you play with numbers.

Maybe Piratis is no better, but you cannot deny the truth, we must have the courage to look into ourselves and make changes.

VP, 500 years ago there were no Turks in Cyprus. Your crimes against us started 437 years ago and they continue until TODAY.

If it was just one event 500 years ago then nobody would have a problem today. The problem is that you have not changed since then, and you continue to try to impose your rule by force over Cyprus.

And of course I acknowledge our wrong doings 40 years ago. When did I claim the opposite? But do you acknowledge your own wrong doings during the exact same period, do you acknowledge your wrong doings before that period, and do you acknowledge your wrong doings after that period that continue until today?

You ignore the 99.5% of the events, even the crimes you commit as we speak, and you exaggerate your comparatively way less suffering of the past looking for excuses to commit yet more crimes against us today and in the future.

The TCs ARE just another minority like every other minority in the world, but Turkey is trying to use them in order to keep our island under their control. I tell you what, give to the Greek minority that lives in Turkey 1/3rd of Turkey and make them "partners" in running Turkey, and then come to ask the same for your minority in Cyprus.

I am not accountable for what happened 437 years ago (you have a fixation with numbers) as I had no say in those events but for only 40 years ago we should all be accountable, we to have made many mistakes and I have acknowledged and even apolozied to GCs for their suffering only to have it thrown back in my face.

Your dismissive and belittling appraoch when addressing our suffering does no side any favors, the day you realize that numbers do not approtionate blame is the day you will realize we are people who just want to get on with our lives but not under the thumb or at the mercy of GCs. There has to be a balance but with your negative attitude towards accepting us as an equal partners, you leader seem to have grabbed on and I hope in time you will be a minority in your though of pushing us into minority status and turning the whole of Cyprus into a GC state.

You sided with the British to get a bigger slice of the cake than you deserved and in the full knowledge that one day Turkey would help you achieve that aim. Some stupid Greek Cypriots played right into your hands and gave you the excuse you were looking for.

Mate, the wars that you started against us in Cyprus were never for "survival". Your survival was never threated by us, and it is in fact you who started the "inter-communal" conflict by collaborating with the British to defeat our revolution and then directly attacking us in 1958. Right from the beginning and until today you aim is to impose your rule by force either on the whole or on part of our island.

You sided with the Brits for the very simple reason that the Turks and British had agreed to collaborate in order to defeat the revolution of Cypriots, so both of them could then have gains on the loss of the Cypriots. Thats what happened.

Yeah.. i tried to care & look what i got called for my troubles.
You accuse me of playing with numbers, but if you consider the bias nature of both sides of the story how can anyone come up with an answer to what really happened?
No I'm not getting hurt personally, but as i said above, both my parents live in Nicosia & any further trouble, like some people here abdicate, would see my parents right in the middle of it all!(Not that I'm that worried, my dad's a big fan of Glock)Hence my concern.
No i don't know about a guy that was assassinated in Turkey. My parents do not live there, so I would have no reason to look at something like that, now would I?I'm not Armenian, neither is the conflict that was being debated & I have no Armenian acquaintances.
Also if TC's & GC's are any more genetically different then say, Portuguese & Spanish people then I'll stfu!
Or should this lowly Cule, take on all the problems & wrong doings of the world? Should I like being called names?

You made the most poignant statement of this whole thread, when you pointed out the Bravery of this man & why no TC had done the same. But you crapped all over it all by saying that prat-is is no beter. So guess what the next word's coming out of my mouth are.

What makes YOU a T/C , your avatar is that of Turkey , so you , that means you not the true T/Cs , do not belong here , you are displaying the flag of a foreign nation , why not go and join this vast nation why do you persist in calling yourself a T/C rather than just a Turk.
Your flag has nothing what so ever to do with Cyprus .

Absolutely right Miltiades ... this is the flag of the enemy invaders ... how can they offer solutions.

Anyone flying a Turkish flag is either a traitor or the enemy ... and they are part of the problem ..... not the solution!
