I don't normally eat KFC. But over in Cyprus a couple of weeks ago I did to please the kids. I barely made the half hour drive back to our house. I was on the loo all afternoon with the runs.

It's a while since I did food hygiene course but I remember that different bacteria give different symptoms. I also remember that food does not have to smell bad to give you food poisoning, conversly food that smells OK can still cause trouble.

Jerry is correct

Food poisoning bacteria cannot be seen or smelt (as opposed to spoilage bacteria which can)

There are 2 main types of food poisoning bacteria, exotoxins which generally form on the food and endotoxins, which generaly form in the gut

An example of an exotoxin is Staphylococcus aureus which has an onset time of between 1 and 6 hours and lasts for 12-48 hours

Then on the other hand you have the Listeria toxin which has an onset time of between 1-70 days and typically takes 21 days to show

So it is quite possible to have a meal and be showing the symptoms of food poisoning before you get home

my last word on subject now I've been running courses most of week and now need some light entertainment (please O)
