Have you been out of your comfort zone recently?

Postby Talisker » Sat Jun 21, 2008 1:00 am

Bicker, bicker, bicker. Is that all this forum is for? Looks like it tonight........

Get away from those PCs folks, get off your arses and into the great outdoors, and enjoy this fantastic world in which we live. Better still, do something that scares you shitless, then you can place some perspective on the mundane bickering that occurs on this forum.

I took myself out of the comfort zone a couple of weekends ago. I went climbing in the Cuillin mountains in the Isle of Skye, one of the beautiful islands off the west coast of bonnie Scotland. Aim was to climb some of the 11 Munroes (http://walking.visitscotland.com/munros/) on the Cuillin ridge, including the notorious 'Inaccessible Pinnacle'. Hope you like the photos.

Day 1 - The view at breakfast time

Preparing to set off

Lochan on the way up to the ridge - perfect for a cooling dip

Views towards Sgurr Alasdair (third summit, climbed later that day) with lochan below where we'd been swimming

Views from the ridge

Second summit - Sgurr Dubh Mor

The scree path down from Sgurr Alasdair

Day 2 - Sizing up the Inaccessible Pinnacle

The nearby temple where spiritual sustenance is readily available

Get out there, and have some fun! Recommend Skye to anyone.

I repeat the question - Anyone else moved out of their comfort zone recently??

Lovely photos. Had we abandoned or PCs we would never see them.  I wonder if the ropes are stong enough for me?(jokong).

The last time I went to Skye, I was scared out of my skin. That was without even leaving the car. It was weird travelling over the hills and touching the clouds at the same time. Lovely scenery though (once the clouds lift). I bet your missus, prays for your safe return evry time you venture out.

Take care

as
Since when did we move to using such terms of endearment, my thorn!

as the The saying goes in the North, "gulu seven dikenine katlanir". Roughly translated as "They who love roses withstand their pricks/thorns."

I am full of terms of endearment and why are you still up? Celebrating something or is it the hot nights plus mozzies keeping you awake?

Great pics Talisker, wish I was there, and don't listen to these women, a lot of them I know like the ropes (and a whip). :)

Sarcasm? Perhaps , about my weight. Not with your post. Why the paranoia?
