NO. (Egypt is worse, Cairo in particular).

And there are even worse places in my humble opinion.

You are right about Cairo  ... so many cars squeezed into every available centimetre of road. We were warned not to cross any roads!

I even saw one driver holding a sleeping baby in his arms whilst he was driving

We all know the virtues of proper manners: but what of those strange habits, rituals and traditions which seem to serve little purpose.

Cyprus certainly excels in eccentric mannerisms ..... And as for Britain  ... don't get me started!

Most unnerving is the "Don't sit with your back to someone," instruction. Fine except in some situations (cinema, car) it leaves me strangely uncomfortable as I am made conscious of this social taboo.

Which ones leave you flummoxed? :?

Cypriot drivers! Absolute pain in the proverbial!

If it was you who tried to cut me up tonight - hint - go and re-take your test, your driving SUCKS!

What was the point of you driving in the left hand lane with me driving parallel only for you to try and force me out to face the oncoming traffic? Was your lane not good or big enough for you or your ego?

I have driven or been driven all over the world, but to date, this country wins the award - IMHO as having the crappiest. most inconsiderate drivers

Anyone else agree?

Bubbles .... kindly don't drink and drive! ... and go and have one of those big mugs of coffee .... BLACK!

You sound like a mess (more so than usual!)

The wine must be at your end as none here sister, I assure you

FYI, I never drink alcohol and drive - that is why God put taxi drivers on the road - and we (unlike many ex pats and the like) make good use of their services!

Maybe it is just that the truth hurts - huh! Funny how you react when I type 'Cypriot'   would British, Russian, Polish etc stifled your reply! I think so.......................

Oracle, I found driving in Cairo to be an experience best forgotten, one other place which comes to mind is Jordan, I cheated death on several occasions there and, compared to Cyprus (chalk and cheese).

Me too - but as I have never visited Egypt, can you guess where?
Correct - Cyprus   Not to mention the toddler jumping between the front and back seats

Let's face it, none of us want to admit our country's faults, but they are there and they are visible to outsiders - FACT!

Really, what a coincidence!

I had never seen such a thing in all my long life and here by some lucky fluke  ... just when you want to slag-off Cypriot drivers ........ in your drunken state ........ you will flippantly decide you have seen such a thing also......

Well, well, well. Could we ever believe anything you say again?

I totally agree with this. The police convoys they insist on between cities are just breathtaking in their danger. I ended up just closing my eyes and moving to the back of the minibus, I just couldn't cope with the stress anymore. We passed a number of crashed cars that hadn't been cleared away, they were no more than twisted pieces of metal.
