BTW, although I am English, I do NOT drink tea - coffee only and preferably piping hot and in a BIG mug. Please keep this info for future invites

Come and have a coffee in a big mug with me Bubbles mou! I only drink cafetiere coffee, don't like the instant stuff! :D

:D :D Cheers Niki mou - Champers too?

BTW, I drink any coffee - but not Cyprus stuff - keep trying but still it is a no-no!

Well there's an example of bad manners .... stating a preference.

One should just say that the company is enough; one is not visiting for the sake of refreshments .......

Ever heard of the saying 'Shy girls get nowt'?

The whole point of the visit is to have coffee (and champers) so if one's host is informed beforehand there will be no problem on the day as they will be equipped to meet their guests needs!

BTW any Champers will suffice

Helicopter pilots arguing about who has the most desirable 'Chopper' and boasting about how well they perform.

American pilots bragging about how many different 'Birds' they have handled.

Ship's Captains boasting about how well they manoeuvred 'Her' when things got a bit rough.

And the list goes on, strange indeed I'll grant you, but a lot of fun.

Anthropomorphisms

Why is it only men feel the need to animalize (and genderize) their machines? ... Women don't tend to do this to the machines they operate e.g. washing machines ... although mine has been nicknamed Miltiades for now as it is making a lot of noise

We all know the virtues of proper manners: but what of those strange habits, rituals and traditions which seem to serve little purpose.

Cyprus certainly excels in eccentric mannerisms ..... And as for Britain  ... don't get me started!

Most unnerving is the "Don't sit with your back to someone," instruction. Fine except in some situations (cinema, car) it leaves me strangely uncomfortable as I am made conscious of this social taboo.

Which ones leave you flummoxed? :?

Cypriot drivers! Absolute pain in the proverbial!

If it was you who tried to cut me up tonight - hint - go and re-take your test, your driving SUCKS!

What was the point of you driving in the left hand lane with me driving parallel only for you to try and force me out to face the oncoming traffic? Was your lane not good or big enough for you or your ego?

I have driven or been driven all over the world, but to date, this country wins the award - IMHO as having the crappiest. most inconsiderate drivers

Anyone else agree?
