according to my part time salary of 30 hours a week at €1,100 a month looks like i'm above the uk minimum wage :D

From Spain I can tell you that u are very lucky if you earn this ONLY for 30 hous a week, most our youngsters use to work 40 hours a week (minimum) for eur 1000 a month. And not in buliding or farming but in IT bussines for example and holding an university degree.

From the first time I come to Cyprus I keep saying that I'll learn greek (first of all) and then move there where in my area of knowledge (shipping bussines) I'll be for sure better payed and live better than in Spain, but of course as somebody has said previously I'll never risk myself to do that without knowing the native language of the country.

That's not just failing to adjust. That's plain stupidity. Did he move to Cyprus to create himself a new future or did he go there to party his brains out like there's no tomorrow? I can appreciate that at a certain age partying is not only fun but also a big part of life nowadays. But how hard is it to put the money on the table and sort out the bills? Then put aside money and make a plan to buy groceries on certain days of the week. Finally make a party budget to see how often and how much you can afford to party? Perhaps saving some would be in order as well? It's always nice to have a wad of cash in case the unexpected happens.

Drinking and partying 4 days/week? How fun is that on a scale from 1 to 5? In the long run I mean... it must be rather boring after a while. I can imagine it's as fun as... well, going to a dead end job 5 days a week!

lots of people leave jobs in the uk working for an employer to start a new life and business abroad. they have never run a business before thats why most fail. i know soo many people here that sold up and spent every penny on a house here. they are destined to fail. uk retirees just cant live on their pensions. if you relocate you need to do your research, have enough funds to get you out of trouble and not just have plan a, but plans b,c,d as well.

It is everyone's right to fight for their country and if the above quote is correct, he was perfectly entitled to have wished annihilation of Turks from Cyprus ... the alternative as we have seen is our continual struggle to re-establish normality to our country against this invasion by 80 Million Turks intent on taking us over and annihilating us from our country, to complete the job they started 400 years ago.

Quote from above:

Well if promoting genocide does not get you banned from this forum, what does?

..... from Cyprus,

You want to restrict your genocide to Cyprus. Thanks for the clarification.

My real point is that if you can use this forum for promoting genocide, then it should be open to all people with all views. Let's have less carping along the lines of "I want to hear less from x, y and z".

As an Englishman - I think the British are very quick to move abroad half-heartedly without thinking it through fully. They see the sun, the sand, and the souvlaki (as mentioned above) and don't really think about the financial implications until they get here. There's also an arrogance about many Brits who've never lived abroad that makes them assume they're going to be able to get the best jobs abroad.

For what it's worth, I think Cyprus is pretty much the same price as the UK (outside London) these days for most things, but the property prices (for rental at least) are miles cheaper.
