No more custom fees for farming products from TRNC!!!

also u can pass shopping from north to south increased from 135euro to 260euro !!!

The new amendments provides for the lifting of duties on agricultural products from North Cyprus and an increase in the total maximum value of personal goods allowed across the line.

The shopping ceiling was increased from 135 Euros to 260 Euros.

A statement issued after a meeting of the General Affairs and External Relations Council said that the new amendments are designed to facilitate trade and economic cooperation and integration between the two communities on the basis of experience accumulated until today.

The new amendments also include the temporary introduction of goods from North Cyprus into the South for up to six months.
This would allow Turkish Cypriot service providers to bring their equipment across the line when providing a service on a temporary basis in the South. does anybody explain this what doesn't mean exactly .

It will also permit the repair of equipment in the South.

A statement from the EU said `the adoption of the amendments is a small but important contribution to the favorable climate on the island and to the process towards reaching a comprehensive and viable settlement of the Cyprus issue within the UN framework`.

The EU Presidency also expressed the hope that further confidence-building measures could be agreed soon.

What a shame. According to a previous post, the British love you so much for all you have done for them. Now it seems you don't love them back. Boo hoo.

They have more reason to love me than I do them unfortunately for me .... :(

BTW ... those 3 are not necessarily representative ... and the type of Brits (intelligent ones) I "associated" with (outside forum) ... were great! :D

Let's be slightly more objective. I visit Trodoos Square from time to time and frequently see Turkish Cypriot families there. Guess what. They open the boots of their cars and take out picnics, which they consume in the areas provided for their purpose. Not a eurocent do they spend while in the free areas. The same mentality prevails on both sides. The good thing is that at least people are travelling to the other side and coming into contact with their fellow Cypriots. It will take time for trust to build up.

Actually, the last time I was in Arasta Street it was packed with Greek Cypriots shopping at Turkish Cypriot owned shops, but that is another story.
