What we fail to see is that America , like all previous world super powers , HAS to support its own interests and be friendly with those nations that best serve her interests , this has , throughout history , been the deciding factor in forging alliances , nothing to do with justice unfortunately. When we begin to understand our " hand" then we can play accordingly , unfortunately very few of us know how to play the political card.

miltiades, I think your statement is rather unfair, you assume that because many Cypriots (in common with many other nationalities) are disgusted with the administration of the American Government's home and foreign policies, they must HATE Americans.

If there be any 'Hatreds', they would be of the actions of the nation rather than the nation itself. therefore I dispute your claim.

As to your assertion that 90% of Cypriots are anti-American, one wonders just where you have obtained such precise details.

Given that there are T/C and G/C 'Cypriots' and assuming that the T/C's would be more in concert with American policies, your theory must be a figment of your imagination.

Turkey doesn't really have to do anything Miltiades, it's Turkey's location that the US appreciates. The US will bend over backwards to keep Turkey sweet, take the refusal to allow US troops to enter Iraq from the north for instance. The only card we could play would be to employ the same tactics as the Israelis and even the the odds would be against us.

The White Americans are far from electing a black president and the likelihood of assasination is very high.

This might be a wishful thinking on your part, being that the Democrats will be opening up some sensitive issues that will not be beneficial to Turkey or for the "trnc". Since there has not been any assassination attempts on any previous blacks running for Presidency, there isn't any precedence you can point to when you make your remarks, therefore, it can only be a wishful thinking on your part, which is very sad indeed.

The days of NeoCons will be gone for a while and Turkey will need to learn to do without them for a while.!!!

You are absolutely correct , the Cubans , Iranians , the Taliban , Iraqi insurgents , African despots , all hate America along with the 90% of G/Cs a figure that you seem to dispute !! Take this forum , how many G/Cs post , how many support America ??
I DO 100% and hope that one day the G/C people would start looking after their interests and start supporting the worlds' superpower for their own benefit .
