Moving back to MELBOURNE

Postby umit07 » Sun Jun 15, 2008 7:22 pm

I am thinking of moving back to Melbourne and continuing my studies under a different Major. But I have a ton of questions in my head that I need answers to. Below are some of them , please only genuine responses.

* Rent rates in North Melbourne seem to be around 200 AUD a week for a tiny one bedroom flat. Would a student working part-time be able to afford it?

*What is the average per hour wage for part time student type jobs? How hard is it finding work?

*I couldn't find any info about gov. student benefits , I know that there are some sorts insentives.

Australia is a great place to visit/study but flying there has got to be one of the worst things about it... you'll be stranded in planes and airports for 20 to 30 hours each way! I don't know if you've experienced anything like this before but it ain't funny... reconsider for your sake!

I remember some days ago you said you were giving some exam. What happened? You didn't do good and now you want to abandon everything and go as far as you can? ;)

GR I lived in Melbourne up to the age of 12 . I have taken the 20-30 hour journey twice before. I am seriously considering going back and need some help with the zillion things in my head. I have to find a place to stay before hand , get info on uni. transfer codes and try to calculate the living costs . Plus I have to find some work before I go broke! Just too many things that can go wrong!

If you’re on limited funds isn’t going to Australia to study asking for more trouble? Why don’t you study in Cyprus? :?

Anyway, if you must start here...
