The VERY BIRTH of “Turkish Cypriotness” took place with the first full-scale Ottoman invasion of Cyprus in 1570 and yet some of you people are still wondering over its importance and relevance???
If someone was to ask… “What are the ORIGINS of the Turkish Cypriots, where did they come from?”
Is it possible to correctly answer this question without reference to this fundamental event/date???
Grow up the both of you!
Has no relevance to the future of the Negotiations. How dare you address this to Kikapu. He is on your side.
As to growing up, you have just admitted that we are in fact Turkish Cypriots. Thanks for that admission. Zirdeli. That is all that matters.
My side? What side? There’s only ME on my side because a third in here are a bunch of Greek Nationalists, another third bloody Turkish Nationalists, the final third a bunch of phony opportunistic deceivers sitting on the fence and waiting to jump in the “winners” side, and then we’ve got a handful of dazed “agnostics” dangling around who don’t even know what the hell is going on…
Where are the Cypriot Nationalists like there ought to be?
Different people define Cypriot Nationalism in different ways. Whether you are attached to Hellenic culture or not. Your perception of some members being Greek Nationalists is incorrect as this is merely a connection to Hellenic culture, and whether you like it or not, Cypriot culture is predominately Hellenic. And at the end of the day, they too are Cypriot nationalists as well.
