You’ve been naughty again haven’t you? Why don’t you tell us why Turkish Cypriots like you and Halil have such a difficult time following forum rules… did mummy and daddy tell you it’s ok to be unlawful? Did they promise you’ll never get punished anyway you spoilt little snot?

Rose and chan I started a thread about snakes a little while ago for an article I was researching - why don't you use the search facility - there were lots of old remedies and modern ones to keep the snakes away. I don't think its necessary to harm them, they are very afraid of people and keep the rats etc away. In my opinion they should be protected not persecuted.

People need education. In British schools they are suggesting teaching kids about 'domestic violence' and 'honour killings'. In Cyprus it should be respect for ALL Gods creatures - including GCs and TCs  ..and Snakes ofcourse.

Of course one has to defend oneself, but to go out of your way to kill them is different.

All they have to do is walk away and report it to some 'authority' and in general be cautious. Your thread was very informative. I hope they never kill a black snake (kara yilan). Its bad luck and Friday the 13th.

Our first encounter with a snake was about 6 years ago. We had been out for a drive up the mountains (south side) and had stopped at a junction only to witness a man hitting a snake to its death! This man had obviously stopped his car, got out, found a weapon and then went about this atrocious act of brutality! It was not even a poisonous snake!
Anyone care to explain the logic! :o
