Reality Perception Eludes Turk-TCs .....

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Reality Perception Eludes Turk-TCs .....

Postby Oracle » Wed Jun 11, 2008 8:02 pm

Whilst in discussions with BirKibrisli about our predicament, it surmised that his ideas of reality where in fact merely fantasy.

Black and white reality for me are the occupying Turkish forces, and the dulling of the TCs' minds to prevent questioning and abet acceptance of whatever twists Turkey decides to favour ....

Fantasy from Bir suggests they see themselves as victims, not just of Turkey but also from the GC demands for Democracy and Justice.

Why don't we look at some hard evidence to help identify those present day realities producing consternation, and see where we differ and agree.

What factors do we agree are shoddy about our situation and need changing, and how many are agreeable and can stay, as part of the solution.

A theory that is NOT supported by at least ONE piece of solid evidence is automatically reduced to coffee talk better suited for “general chat”.

This is not to say that this theory didn’t have potential, but when it's poorly presented by leaving it up to reader’s imaginations to fill in the huge missing gaps, it ends up doing more damage than good to what you set out to prove.

Well it was an attempt to move on from your thread where we were getting to the bottom of Birs fantasies about who the real victims of the current situation are that this was opened.

As it was, we continued on your thread until we could safely conclude the Turk-TCs are just using emotional claims which are second rate against the more practical Legal recognition of their crimes against the GCs.

So just as this thread lacks substance ... so do their claims

The reality is that every factor I look at, screams out at the injustice of our situation, yet the every day acceptance of such a vast crime against the GCs goes unheard.

People do adjust as a way of preserving sanity. So I can understand the urgency of the need to find a solution. But on the other hand there is no way I can concede any part of Cyprus to be under TC or Turkish administration. So I would rather we patiently held on to our present predicament where legally we have the promise of restitution on our side.

I might as well use this thread for anything out of place elsewhere and befitting the idea of "Reality Perception" and Cyprob ...

When the Annan plan was put to the separate vote of the two communities, Turkish Cypriot supporters of the plan and a solution based on it, were labeled, “Karpass donkeys, sold outs, traitors, mosquitoes, etc”. by (former) President Denktas and anti-Annan groups…

This was and is sheer injustice… Turkish Cypriots have never been as free as the Karpass donkeys. They have never been able to wander and roam like them, feed, multiply and grow like them…There are no restrictions that donkeys know of, for them…
I envy them. Soon, I am afraid, like Greek Cypriot property owners in North Cyprus, donkey owners will start filing court cases against Turkish Cypriots about their donkeys too.

Will Turkish Cypriots be able to come up with compensation demands?

- Well, we have looked after your donkeys for thirty years, fed them, protected them… instead of one or two you may now have 5-6.

- We have a record of those who had donkeys in the area.. we will charge them and take them to court if they do not respond favourably..
- How about that? Is it sarcastic? Let the free-born donkeys of Karpass enjoy their wild life.

But, catch a few, tame them and use them for short distance travels in the mountainous terrain.

You may even use them in public squares to attract the attention of tourists.. They cannot dance like bears.. They can stand and watch quietly with large, beautiful eyes.

Would somebody take birth control measures against them in the Karpass, to prevent large population growth? Would some of them be exported to other places or countries?

Exports may make good money. The money to be obtained can be used for their welfare, for fencing, for their health etc..
The Cyprus donkeys are famous for their size, strength and easy use in the farming sector as well as for transport where there are no proper roads..

Both the North and South authorities should consider the value of donkeys, that do not cost so much as petrol powered vehicles.

Like the property problem, I hope, the donkey problem will not become so complicated in an eventual Cyprus settlement.
