this year was a competition too far.there was no suprise factor as the others knew how greece would play.take sweden ,greece tried to sucker them in by playing the ball at the back then intended to counter at pace but sweden let them knock it around at the back and picked greece off when they came forward.
against russia they went for it in the second half but it wasnt to be.as for the greece keeper i call him "wrong choice" because every time he needs to make a big descision he makes the wrong choice
my cash went on spain before it started and i still make them favourites to win it
as for the the turkey czech game , i fear it will be penalties and heartbreak for someone
Hi Kentish, I agree that Greece lost the element of surprise this year. Before the Euro started I wasn't as confident as others that they would get far, precisely because I figured that the other teams would have sussed out how they played. However I don't think that that is the only reason why they didn't manage to qualify. Simply put, they didn't play well enough, and didn't put enough effort into it, compared to four years ago. Plus it took them a while to get started, if they'd played in the first match like they played in the second half against Russia, they may have qualified. Nikopolides frustrated me in the last game, he made such a good save at the start but then cancelled it out by making that awful decision, which in effect invited the Russians to score..
I don't know about Spain, they're playing great but they just don't have a good record in big competitions, so I’m not sure whether they’ll be able to go the whole way. At the moment I’m leaning more towards Holland, but I know some people think they've peaked too soon... I don't know we'll see...
