The Lefke Community Center Society, the Lefke Environment and Promotion Society, the Denizli Gemikonagi Development Society and the Lefke foundation which make the Lefke Platform have launched an initiative for the opening of the Aplic border gate under the title “Open Lefke Aplic Gate; Right Now”.

Speaking on behalf of the platform, Vehit Nekipzade called for the immediate opening of the Lefke Aplic crossing point.

Pointing out that the opening of some crossing points was on the agenda of the two leaders, Nekipzade said it was necessary to open a crossing point in Lefke too in order to free the town from being a blind alley.

“Keeping the Aplic crossing point closed does not only negatively affect the people of Lefke but also condemns Greek Cypriot villages to the South of Lefke to share the same destiny” said Nekipzade.
