I need salt - and lots of it!

Postby hellopaul » Sun Jun 08, 2008 11:25 pm

Hello.

I am in the process of fitting a salt water chlorinator to my pool. I need to buy around 180kg of salt and I wondered if anyone knows of a good, cheap place to get some (preferably in the Limassol area - I don't really want to drive the stuff halfway across the island!).

Table salt is probably no good because it often contains anti-caking agents which can cloud the water and leave nasty yellow stains on the pool. Just plain old NaCl.

I would head for the salt lake in Larnaca and get scraping, but I'd probably end up with more mud than salt!

Thanks!
Paul

The Turks have stolen it all, so that they have a plentiful supply to keep rubbing into our wounds ... :(

I was going to comment "not another innocent thread corrupted" but I see you have beaten me to it Bubbles.

Boy are you going to be a sour puss Oracle when your president gives away most of the occupied area ( let alone the salt ) to the Turks due to pressure from the EU to reach a solution

Now be a good lady :? and leave this guys thread alone and let him source his pool salt

I had not realised they had got that far.

I now have MTV by my pool

Postby hellopaul » Mon Jun 09, 2008 2:48 pm

I think there are still some references to salt in this thread........

Anyway, another thanks to Cyprusgrump - I now have a LOT of salt ready to chuck in my pool! And MTV was much cheaper than the pool shop near Pizza Hut.

The End. Everybody's happy, especially Oracle (which one of the smileys represents sarcasm? I resist the temptation to use  - I think that smiley has earnt enough overtime from Oracle! )

I'm surprised I haven't seen:
TURKEY :sniper: CYPRUS :2guns: TURKEY around here. I just like those smileys! :eyecrazy:

PS. Is there a smiley to represent stirring up aggravation just for the fun of it?!?
