Umit, I think you have said it. Ankara says what happens. So perhaps old Papadopoulos was right in not wasting his time with the worm. Look what happened now. Christofias spent time and effort has respected Talat as the leader of the TC community and he shits all over that.

You know mate the Cyro is the thorn is the RoC's side and whilst we are being denied freedom and property. Your community is facing more problems than we are and this worm you call a president is playing games with his own people. He is a joke.

Humanist , a deal that Turkey does NOT want can ever happen in Cyprus ! BUT simplifying everything down to Turkey is NOT a true analysis! The property mess is something that came out of Denktash's hat, basicaly GC's will never be able to get back everything they left , TC's wouldn't accept this .

Umit I think many of us have come to accept that we may never see our properties back. Not many of us would be bothered either. What the hec some of the properties will never be claimed because the one's who have knowledge of the system have passed on in Australia, Britain and other nations that their children will not bother claiming anything back.

The property is just another issues Talat and his masters are holding as a delay tactic.

I maintain my previous points. We may have lost land and freedom but in a capitalist world of 2008 and biggest loosers are your community and your gutless leader is throwing tantrums. May be the wanker can take a risk and say no Turkey for once and seek refuge in the knowing that Cyprus is part of the EU and help will arrive at a settlement.

Simple really no Turkish involvement in Cypriot politics = equality for all Cypriots.

Take note that you can speak for yourself but please don’t throw around statements like that on behalf of all other Greek Cypriots. Property of deceased refugees is automatically transferable to their children and fully entitled to it.

Reports: Talat snubs UN dinner with Cyprus President

By Alethea Reynolds 08.JUN.08
The fallout over a memorandum signed between the government and Britain could lead to the cancellation of a social dinner organised by UN official Lynn Pascoe.

CyBC state radio reported that the Turkish Cypriot leader Mehmet Ali Talat has refused to attend the dinner, which was billed as a "social gathering" of Talat, President Christofias and Lynn Pascoe and was to take place on June 17.

According to BRT in northern Cyprus, Mr Talat has said the memorandum would harm the common views reached between him and President Christofias.

Mr Talat strongly condemned Britain, saying this kind of an approach would not help find a comprehensive solution to the Cyprus problem.

He also added that the Turkish Cypriot Side is against Britain’s recent attitude towards the Cyprus problem.

On Thursday, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and President Demetris Christofias signed a memorandum of understanding which made a reference to "a federation based on a bi-communal and bi-zonal structure".

Presidential Spokesman Hasan Ercakica has said that the preparation works are continuing for the visit the UN Under - Secretary for General Affairs Lynn Pascoe is thinking to realize to the island and added that the meetings and social activities to be held will be determined as a result of these works been carrying out.

Mr. Ercakica’s words came out while he responded to Greek Cypriot media claims that the Turkish side has refused Mr. Pascoe’s dinner invitation to be taking place with the participation of two leaders as a reaction to UN secretary General’s latest report to the Security Council on the work of the UNFICYP and the memorandum signed between the Greek Cypriot Administration and Britain.

Explaining that the preparation works for Pascoe’s visit are continuing, he said as announced on Tuesday the meetings and social activities to be held will be determined as a result of these works been carrying out.
He stressed that at this stage it is not possible to talk about any definite meeting or dinner.

My northern brothers and sisters, please, please enlarge the door to the negotiation room and bring back a heavyweight Cypriot, Mr Donktosh Snr.

Uncle GR

   uncle GR you are very right as above. I realise the right of entitlement. I was merely saying that a great number who have been born outside Cyprus particularly Australia who are not knowledgeable about Cypriot laws will just relinquish the properties as its all to hard. My cousins for example they can't even speak greek, haven't been to Cyprus for over 20 years and will never boter. They'll be lucky if their parents sort it out for them, the rest will be history. I am no by no means donating anything to anyone.

your point?????????????

wake up to reality halil your so called leader is screwing with your young ones future and all you guys can do is blame to GC's for standing up for their rights.

Talat has shown absolute incompetence in this instance. I personally have no respect nor trust in him, not that my opinion should count. However I am entitled to my opinion.
