Euro 2008 - who will you support?

Postby AQ » Sat Jun 07, 2008 1:08 pm

In the absence of England (and Wales, Scotland and both Irelands) who will you support in Euro 2008?

I suppose if you are Cypriot you have a choice, Greece or Turkey?

Being English, it is impossible to support Germany, who will probably win.
Portugal? No chance. Ronaldo despite being a wonderful player is impossible to like.

Italy, no. Spain, I suppose not a bad choice, great players.

However I am leaning towards Poland. The UK economy is being driven by ex-pat Poles. Nice people, work fantastically hard, ambitious to get on.
The way we used to be.

Come on you Poles!

Sweden. My girlfriend is Swedish so I guess Sweden is a good choice......besides, she is standing over me right now and she will kill me if I say otherwise :D

Any team that attacks will get my vote as well.

You also have Ibrahimovic & Henrik Laarson too! Zlatans last game he scored twice for Inter to win them the Serie A so he is on form & we all know that Laarson is mustard.

The Sun goes Polish for Euro 2008

LONDON (AFP) — The Sun, Britain's biggest-selling daily, published Saturday the first of six editions in Polish aimed at the country's Polish community during the 2008 European football championships.
Some 68,000 copies of the "Polski Sun" were available in more than 3,000 news outlets in the hope of catching readers from Britain's estimated 600,000-strong Polish community.

The first edition -- timed to coincide with the start of Euro 2008 in Austria and Switzerland -- contains an exclusive interview with former president Lech Walesa and articles on the late Polish pope John Paul II.

If Scotland was in this Euro would the English support them? :? I support Greece and then Russia ::P Greece won it last time and no team ever won the Euro 2 consecutive times so I don't think the miracle will repeat this year. But Russia is on a winning streak lately. They won the Eurobarket, and Eurovision so now they can get the Euro also.
