If I can convince my son you are not really so loud, and that you don't eat white pussycats .. then we may just manage to meet sometime ....

But you went to Milti's BBQ, didnt you? He was looking forward to your sheeps balls.

I wasn't invited to a BBQ :?

... and it looks like the forum one isn't likely to happen for security reasons now (unless it happened without me) ....

She stood me up Deniz

Nooooooooo. Really? A lady with no integrity. What apologies did she make? It must have been her mother. I hope she is well, but having a daughter like Oracle can be stressful.

Deniz stop obsessing about my mother ..

And apologies to Miltiades .. but son's activities kept me otherwise engaged ... and I was not reminded till late evening.

I excuse myself on the basis that no definite arrangement was made, and I would have been the last person Miltiades would have wished to entertain ...

When the time is right ....

.......he sounded so disappointed. He is a true Cypriot. I am sure he meant it. Chicken. With all his arrogance I did not chicken out of meeting your mentor. Mind you I did have my bodyguard with me. (so did he)

I hope everyone had a nice weekend! It's been quite hot and I think everyone deserved an ice cold brew of their choice... Keo or Efes or imports... whatever floats your boat. ;)

Thank you to those who made an effort to give me some serious replies so far. :)

Perhaps the rest of you visiting this thread have something to contribute as well? As long as it's more or less on topic anyway. ;)

Cheers!

hi agios had some more ideas on the property situation, not sure how the other members will take it but here goes. if the previously greek owned property is someones only home worldwide then the trnc gov should pay up to the greek owner. if the house is someones second home/holidayhome then the home should be returned and the trnc gov pay up to the person who purchased it. that way people wouldn't be thrown onto the streets homeless. lots of people here are elderly and retired, spent their life savings on a retirement place on the say so of the trnc gov. throw them out and it will kill the cyprus property market, and i don't think it would go down to well with the eu. its a hard one to solve but it needs doing.

Why would it not go down well with the EU? EVery EU country has issued a warning to its citizens from buying property in occupied Cyprus. If someone bought shares n a company that has serious legal issues pending against it should they be given their money back if the company goes bust?

most of the people who would be thrown out would be eu citizens. the eu would have to deal with the problems. we cannot change what happened before but to now throw old people out on the street is inhumane. two wrongs don't make a right.the trnc gov assured these people, when the time comes i can see them running a mile. i can see what your saying but if a goverment assures people and they believed them, should they loose everything because they were stupid? i'm not saying they all were, some didn't care whos land it was, but lots even today don't fully understand.

You need to take these issues up with the government you chose to do business with ... Turkey ...

You and all the others need to leave so that the ethnically cleansed GCs can get their rightful homes of many generations, back. It's not just a question of money although I can understand money-driven criminals like yourselves will not appreciate that.

So .... ask for your money back from Turkey .. and leave the "trnc"

Like I said. I'm sorry for those who bought property in good faith. But... they should have done their homework better before doing so. It's a shame if people lose money but what about the GC's who's been ripped off for 34 years?

Those who ignored all warnings will have to face the consequences once the rightful owners knock on their doors.

If the TRNC is a puppet regime it's in effect Turkey that gave the "go" on sales of stolen land. So, when Turkey leave the island they will have to leave some money to help clean up the mess they created. It's a cheap price to pay... especially if they want to gain access to the exclusive club called the EU.

I have no false hopes on Turkey paying up, so... if someone is going to lose something it's the people who bought the stolen property in the first place. It may not be 100% fair to them since some obviously bought in good faith. But it's 100% fair to the GC's who actually own the property in question. And they must be pleased first. The very same goes for any TC property illegally sold in the south if any.

Arrangements can be made, monetary or otherwise. Land exchange... north for south and vice versa. Every case is individual. But I still strongly believe that no GC or TC should ever have to accept money rather than the land of their families. If they want their land back they should have it. There is no other solution. If they want to sell they can sell. If not they reclaim what's theirs in the first place. It's the only way. If someone else is living there and it's their only home worldwide... tough luck. They must move out and make room for the rightful owner. Then they can sue Turkey (if the island is reunited there will be no TRNC to sue) in order to reclaim the money spent on land and building(s).

It's a rotten world and people get screwed everyday. You can surely not expect the rightful owners (GC and/or TC) of stolen land to bend over, haul off their pants and take another screwing? Not when they've had to endure this procedure on a daily basis for 34 years!

Just my ¢2...
