I just get the gun out and shoot them, only way to be sure.

Pigeon spikes, kestrals, sprays all rubbish, shooting is the only way.

Good luck

hi mike
you will need to go to your local police station with your passport and immigration details.
they will give you a form to take to the main police station in the area.
for me it was agia napa then paralimni.
you will then get a document either to import an air gun or buy one locally you have to state your preference and have to purchase the air gun and return to the police station within 30 days with the gun and the form completed by the supplier.
then you pays your money and get the licence with the weapon registered to you so dont loan it out.
you are restricted to 177 but dont worry if you get a good one the pigeons wont know what hit em!!its illegal to shoot pigeons around domestic residences so make sure you get all of your neighbours permission.
strangely enough my next door neighbour has a dead pigeon on his roof and they dont go anywhere near his roof anymore!!! so if you bag one dont put it in the bin

We did have a very cheeky pigeon visit us a couple of years ago ( before the parrot ) the front door was open and the cheeky thing walked in , had a good look round for a couple of mins and walked out again ~ obviously the accommodation wasn't up to the required standard for a discerning pigeon .

Bill ~~ parrot for hire ~ cheap weekly rates ~ ear plugs provided.

For the pigeons or us?

The ear plugs are for anyone brave enough to borrow my mean bird~ she's a noisy cow and actually imitates the sound ( very loudly ) of a few large birds ( including Egyptian crows ) since her brief stay up in the hills near Pissouri.

mike-d wrote:Good evening all,

I am relatively new to this forum and am also going to be moving out to Cyprus in the middle of July from the UK.

The property that I own in Cyprus has become somewhat of a magnet for pigeons and I wanted to find a permanent way to get rid of them!

Can anyone tell me if air rifles / air pistols (that fire pellets - not bullets!) can be bought in Cyprus, and whether a license is required.

I know that many Cypriots own a shotgun for hunting (and shooting any road sign that they may pass on the way!) but am not sure whether air rifles are permitted.

Any advice on this subject would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike.

In addition to being a general pest, feral pigeons eat resources which would be left for other more valuable and genuinely wild fauna, so there is one more reason to shoot them. Less pigeons more wild birds!

Good hunting.
