because when I hear the phrase "it is not like the UK", it makes my blood boil. Hello, we are in a different country.

I don't recall saying "it's not like it is in the UK". I was asking the question because, strangely enough, I recognise that it is different. I aplogise if I have strayed into your cosy (but obviously limited) world. Mea culpa.

Come on! The Forum is a little depressing at the moment! I wanted to stir up a little friendly banter and humour and all I get is an emoticon! Hmph!

"Everything seems expensive compared to the UK" is what you said. I shall now go back to my limited world.

Forum foul mouth eh, and you don't use foul language on forum..no. Do you enjoy seeing people join in for a free kicking contest. I don't, it happens too much on forum, for no apparent reason, only maybe to get a little qudos from the forum stalwarts.

its not like the uk because people find it hard to be civil to each other. the reason its expensive here is because of the over inflated euro prices in cyprus. i've noticed the difference since january. how will cyprus compete for business ect in euro with such high prices? most expats who crossed to shop have now stopped and are shopping in the north because of the price hikes.

JoJo - that seems to be a realistic observation, not a moan, nor indeed a call for global uniformity. What did you do before message boards? How did you spend your time? Surely not interaction with real people???
