OK, we get a lot of cars set fire to or blown up, but that is normally the criminal fraternity sorting themselves out (or the police having a go at them, as has been reported a few times), and I don't have a problem with that.

My ambition is to never have a reason to visit the UK again. I am very happy here thank you.

I agree with your final sentiment. My thoughts exactly.

What a kind offer. Not just yet, maybe in a couple of years.
Just to update you on your Geography, the mining industry is on the eastern side. There is no industry in the Lakes, just peace, quiet, and beautiful countryside.

Returning back to London tomorrow and I'm already feeling sick at the prospect of another month or so away from the paradise island of Cyprus.
The only thing that I find annoying is the stupidity of the young drivers that race up and down the Enaerios area of Limassol making a hell of noise , but at least they are true to form , still !!
Invited for dinner this evening , I did however insist that there should be no pickled birds on offer , I did suggest some Lambs balls instead !! I was however kindly requested to wear long trousers just in case !!

 You forgot the rain!
I love the Lake District for it's beauty and tranquillity. It has been quite a few years since we were there and on that occasion, it rained almost non-stop!
